What's the story with the Dreamcast on HDTVs? What's the picture like?

I know that you can "force" games to use VGA that weren't designed for it; does that help?

VGA games look great asnit uses a progressive display. Interlaced images look terrible.

Another fan of Head Hunter here. It sure did have control issues, especially the bike sections but I still thought it was a great game. I always though of it as Metal Gear for the DC

Scart and VGA look great on my Panny Plasma. I tried on a Sony LCD too and it looked pretty good still.

This talk of VGA output is making me consider getting a Dreamcast again. I've love to have a machine along with the Power Stone's and Crazy Taxi. Hell, even Sonic Shuffle would be fun for a bit of nostalgia.

The DC's VGA output is sublime. The boldly colourful graphical style of many DC games complements its sharp progressive output, too. Most games work with it but there are a few that don't. If you want to play Skies make sure you get an NTSC-U copy, PAL ones don't work with VGA.

I play mainly 2d games on Dreamcast, Capcom support was amazing. I use official scart on a Sony Trinitron, the picture is absolutely stunning

Can't you "force" titles that don't use VGA using some kind of boot disc trick? I actually think I have one of those discs in a wallet somewhere; I used to use it to play Japanese games.
