Of course the image is top notch, it's an emulator.

Does it run roms or only cartridge software?

It has already been exploited to run ROMs, but all it is doing is dumping the ROM from your cart anyway - like a Retrode.

Yeah, I too am waiting for when they announce support for the Amstrad GX4000 and Virtual Boy.

Nakamura's made me want one again. Aaaaaaargh. Playing a lot of GBA on my GC GB player, it's like having a SNES again, but visuals so-so, if this is decent for GBA n cheap enough I rather fancy getting mesen one as a monthly payday treat/item of frippery.

GBA games look amazing on it, no doubt. Full screen too with no resolution issues.

Haha! Just watch your save data! Good chance it can erase it.

I judge a console pad on how easy it is to do a dragon punch or a typical Street fighter combo, if it's too difficult to execute, then it's not good enough in my eyes. Simples

An Ouya does the same thing only better, I think? Android, emulation, can use original pads with an adapter etc.

Retron 5 can take original pads without adaptor. Two slots for NES, SNES and MD. It also takes real carts and is the closest thing to playing a real console.

OUYA also emulates MAME, PC Engine and CD, SEGA CD, C64, Amiga...

Head in the sand bud, head in the sand.

So can a lot of things. Sometimes though, it's all about the experience. Ouya is all about piracy. Retron 5 is designed to be used with real games. Plenty of people like that.
I don't really use or get any pleasure from ROMs.

Hey, why not like both? Take it ALL!!! It's purely psychological but somehow actually being able to stick the carts in makes it appealing, it might be a bit cheap n nasty n tacky but I'd get my money's worth of fun out of it, it's just cool tat whereas the Ouya is more nebulous. I'd happily own both.

One thing I was wondering about the GBA save thing...does this mean you cannot save at all when playing GBA thru this, was kinda wanting to play through all the GBA Castlevanias, not bothered about it wiping the original data cos that was 7yrs back and I wanna start afresh, just would like to know it doesn't keep erasing stuff?
