Yep, it's a fascinating approach but the second movement goes into the forward/backward range you can sense the difficulties. I wish it had come out, mostly because it probably still wouldn't have been the worst Sonic game, but it's a very quick and early shot of how Xtremely rapidly the Sonic formula falls apart when taken out of its classic 2D roots

Even as a kid I always thought Sonic X-treme looked bad. I thought maybe when moving it would look better, as the mags were quite excited and we only got to see thumnail-sized screenshots, so maybe it had a hidden quality - but I felt that Bug! and Bug Too! were crap, and it just looked like if you made some rudimentary adaptations to those games to make them about Sonic instead.Comment
