It was an entertaining night and great as a spectacle, I hope this leads to a Monday Night Wars V2.0.
Raw was quite drab and boring but had me hooked for the Bret segments (He looked like an old bum who had just come in off the street, he should have used some 'Just For Men' and had a a better ring attire - I had to double take when he first came down the ramp, I thought Raven had shown up).
Bret's crowd reaction wasn't good enough for a comeback of his calibre, WWE should have had this show in Canada and they would have blew the house down. Hopefully the ending will lead to a decent payoff at Wrestlemania. I wanted to see him back the Hart Dynasty more.
TNA was a total car wreck, but hellish entertaining to watch. That cage was horrendous you could hardly see through it, WTF was the finish to that match. I hate Jeff Hardy his walk down to the ring where he spasms to music reminds me of a twitcher from Dawn of the Dead - someone just put the guy out of his misery, can't stand him. Hogan coming in via Limo, then saying he had been in the back all day was pure Gold. AJ vs Angle was best match both shows put on.
I look forward to seeing the next Botchamania.
The TNA crowd shouting 'bull****' on such a big night made me laugh too. Has TNA got the Live Monday Night slot yet?Last edited by Miguel007; 08-01-2010, 22:20.

What I thought was interesting was that the repeat (which was shown in their normal time slot on Thursday) managed to get a 0.9, which is only 0.1-0.2 down on what they normally get. I doubt many of the people who watched it on Monday watched it again on Thursday, so that suggests there's potential for TNA to get a 2.0 if they manage to hook all those viewers on one night.
WWE higher ups were supposedly very annoyed that Bret Hart didn't affect their rating at all, they got the same 3.6 they did the previous week. Even with TNA opposite they were hoping for a 4.0 at least.
Vince Russo has written a blog on Facebook, and whatever you think of him, it's a really interesting read. I think his comments about McMahon resting on his laurels are spot on. I hope TNA does provide some decent competition for McMahon, I think he really needs it.

Too right. Raw was better than usual, and thats no fluke. They need TNA opposing them to make it good again. I watch it religiously but it is very stale, so much so that its a bit surprising when something REALLY good happens. During the Monday Night Wars, something good happened pretty much every week.

It's a bit of an irony, but TNA going live on Mondays would probably make me start checking out RAW again to see if they'd change anything about the product to combat TNA. Competition is usually good for everyone.
Agree with what you said about the promos too, that's one of my biggest turn offs about WWE and biggest attractions for TNA.
WWE need to let their performers cut off the cuff promos, let them make mistakes every now and then, but it allows the wrestlers with real personality to shine through and that helps make stars.
If I turn on WWE for 10-15 minutes I feel like the young wrestlers sound (and look) like cookie cutter clones of each other, but their could be a Rock or a Steve Austin hiding underneath if they just let them try and find their own voices.Last edited by EJG1980; 11-01-2010, 21:50.

Went to the TNA show at Wembley Arena tonight, good fun night out. Good matches with Wolfe vs Pope, AJ Styles vs Angle and an Ultimate X match too. Plus there's not much like a nice live dose of Beautiful People Although Taylor Wilde was looking top notch too.
I see the latest episode of Impact did a record rating for their Thursday slot too, got a 1.4 and there's talk of another live Monday Impact on 1st March.

Yeah I went to the TNA show in Cardiff. Good show with a storyline going through. Not just a random set of matches like at WWE house shows and they made an effort with the tron, lighting, ramp etc too which you dont see at a fed house show.
Royal Rumble was great! Nicely booked match apart from the lack of wrestlers in ring at one time, (winner spoiler)
partiocularly at the end where there weren't 4 guys to fall into the corners for a staredown - my fave part of the rumble match!.
Edge is back! Edge is going to WrestleMania. Wooo!

Finally got a chance to catch up with WWE's last PPPV ala Royale Rumble My favourite PPV next to Wrestlemania and Summer Slam. Im slow when it comes to this, as I am slowly gaining more interest in it all again....... well, the PPVs anyways and the return of the good ole Hitman.
Really suprised with the outcome, but I must say that the Winner looks really out of shape....... Probably due to his long absence, from what i am lead to believe.
Gotta say though Vince's comb over disturbs me..... lol.
Still interesting to see that woman wrestling is still a joke in WWE, as the smack talking and crowd work took more precedence than the actual match itself.......
Out of curiosity is Mark Henry and MVP a tag team? Because I noticed they wear the same outfit (with different initials of course). For some strange reason Randy Orton seems slightly camp to me........ must be part of his character, but he doesn'y half come across quite sinister.......
Interesting stuff........

Edge - he is in very good shape but does not have the physique of other guys from genetics. He's tall and skinny naturally. He used to have more muscle when he was on the roids (he has said he was on them himself in interviews). (Visibly) clean guys getting belts is a very good thing imo.
Yep, MVP and Henry are a tag team.
Glad you are enjoying mate. Elimination Chamber on Sunday which is a great concept. Used to be better non-PG of course.
Very happy about TNA moving to Mondays. Hopefully their product is strong and they can get people watching live and taping WWE. I'm personally enjoying TNA more at the moment and I would NEVER have said that until just a month ago. The product is really enjoyable at the moment.
Against All Odds was tremendous. Anderson and The Pope have brilliant, BRILLIANT characters.
