What's in the water at WWE HQ? They're dropping like flies just recently.
Very sad, a great wrestler, if under rather grisly circumstances.

Shocking stuff. It's one thing to read "Wrestler X is dead", as that seems to be becoming an all to common occurrence now. But to read "Wrestler X, his wife and son are dead" is just shocking stuff. To then find out that it looks like being a multiple murder / suicide... mind boggling stuff.

I didn't have any problem with the Vince is dead angle (apart from the fact that it was badly written and boring crap) as I look on it like any other telly show that has plots involving death, marriage, etc., etc.. But, if they have any sense at all, it'll be dropped and 100% forgotten now. No matter the circumstances around Benoit's death, they would get hammered if they carried on with it. Sad thing is, with WWEs past record, you're never 100% sure that they'd do the right thing.

Well on RAW last night, Vince came out to an empty arena and announced the death. After first telling everyone that his own "death" was in fact a work. So that's something. I'd imagine that the angle will be dropped, but Vince is pretty stubborn/ruthless.

everytime this thread pops i get a cold chill down my spine.

Poor Chris Benoit............ the Rabbid Wolverine.........

Didnt know sherri died either........... in fact i didnt even know Kurt Angle was in TNA!

ive been out the game for a while, but its always sad to hear this news about childhood heroes we used to look up to.

Chris Benoits tripple German suplexs were always the best!

I sat up and saw that too, but I couldn't help thinking "He's saying that this week, but what'll happen next week?". Hopefully Vince will surprisingly do the decent thing!

Found this on a wrestling site basic time line

We’ve been inundated with emails relating to Chris Benoit. While I do try to reply to every email we get, with regards to the death of Chris Benoit, his wife, and his son, we’ll be covering this awful and tragic story throughout the day, and I don’t think it’s right that I even reply to some of the emails asking for speculation on what has happened.

Here’s a quick timeline of what we do know has happened over the past few days up to late last night.

              Saturday:
              - Chris Benoit misses the Smackdown/ECW house show in Beaumont. He informs WWE management that he is flying home due to a family emergency.

              Sunday:
              - Benoit is not in Houston for Sunday night’s Vengeance PPV. Ahead of the night’s show, several in the company are hopeful that Benoit will return in time for the show but when it becomes evident that he will not be back for the show, WWE’s creative team re-write the planned Chris Benoit vs CM Punk ECW World Title match. With Benoit scheduled to win the ECW title, creative agree on having Johnny Nitro take his place and beat Punk for the title.

              - “Curious text messages” were sent by Chris Benoit to several in the company throughout Sunday. The Wrestling Observer reports that Benoit had sent messages to Chavo Guerrero.

              Monday:

              - After learning about the text messages sent by Benoit, WWE’s Richard Hering spoke to local authorities, requesting they check Benoit’s home.

              - Local authorities check the home of the Benoit family around 2.30pm local time and find the bodies of Chris, his wife Nancy, and son Daniel. Initial evidence leads authorities to believe that Nancy and Daniel were killed at some point during the weekend before Benoit killed himself on Monday.

              - World Wrestling Entertainment are informed of the deaths at around 4pm local time in Corpus Christi ahead of a 3-hour live RAW broadcast. Vince McMahon held a meeting with everybody in attendance in the ring to inform them of the tragic news.

              - WWE immediately make the call to cancel the live broadcast of RAW. The planned show (which was to be built around the death of the Mr. McMahon character) is cancelled and replaced by a 3-hour tribute show. Fans who bought tickets for the live show are told of the news when arriving at the Arena and turned back.

              - ABC News are told by Lt. Tommy Pope that “the instruments of death were located on the scene” and that they are not searching for any suspects from outside the Benoit house.

Sorry, but if this turns out he's a child killer than he can burn in hell the sick ****! Hope its not true!

Looks like all the steroids and various other drugs pumping through the guys system sent him a bit whacky. I'd imagine all that combined with the hectic touring schedule took it's toll. I'd be very surprised if the guys career had nothing to do with these murders. Everyone is upset by his passing and the tribute show seems fitting, however it looks like the show was a tribute to a murderer.
So it's hard to feel compassion, other than the fact they guy obviously had problems, he still murdered his family, which is unforgivable.

I'd agree with this. I wonder if it's possible to celebrate someone's life in bits though? I mean, he wasn't always a murderer. I don't know. Does what he did wipe away everything else in his life? Maybe it does.

No it doesn't. He must've had a serious psychotic episode to commit an act like that, something none of us can judge with a rational, sane mind.
It's a truly tragic event for all involved, can't quite believe it to be honest.
                        R.I.P Chris.

                          Cant believe it really,

I remember watching him winning the World Heavy weight championship and that great match against Angle. He dedicated all that to his Family so to go out like this....

How **** does McMahon look with his fake death last week ?

to be taken with a huge pinch of salt but just to show things arent always how they first look

OK everyone I got a scoop from a dewd whose pals are with the georgia PD or something, here's what seems to have happened:

                            - benoit receives call from wife panicking
                            - benoit arrives home to find mother having killed the son
                            - benoit kills her in access of rage
                            - benoit realizes the whole situation and iso facing a spoiled life hangs himself (after having written a note apologizing to his remaining kids from 1st marriage..)

                            Must still be confirmed though
from a (no doubt bull****ting 7 year old) poster on an MMA forum

The police man has allegedly said that it was a bizarre case. When the evidence is released we'll find out what made it so bizarre.

Bodies all found in different rooms, it wasn't a gun and they're not searching for any other parties.

That's all we know. I don't criticise the wwe for showing raw as a tribute. We'll never know for sure how many details they knew when they decieded to broadcast but should they shuffle it under the carpet? He appears to be liked by lots of people in the business so there's definately a moral question to be answered but I don't think there's many who could answer it.
