One thing to note about Locke

and something to make me believe he is the 'one' the Others are looking for... probably their leader without knowing he is their leader... is the thing about the snowglass (or whatever it was) that Kelvin mentions, and then elsewhere in the same episode, Locke more or less echoes the same line.

The way I see Lost ultimately panning out is that you have Locke leading the others, and Jack leading the people who refuse to join them.

****ing hell...just when you thought we were going to get some answers they throw more teasers at us! DAMN THEM! A few things stood out for me:

Desmond made the plane crash! There had been talk in season one that it was like the plane was "pulled out of the sky" and it ****ing was!

So the hatch was all about the electromagnetisim after all and the observation (pearl) hatch was an experiment instead! Kelvin was the soldier and half painted the ultraviolet map!

Libby had more involvement in the whole thing, but we still don't know why she was in the mental hospital (maybe because of the death of her husband?). Maybe Hurley's imaginary friend was her husband?! The episode where he came back she was heavily involved in. So in all occasions where hurley has seen his fictional mate she has been in close proximity.

The Widmore name makes a more prominent showing...that name has cropped up on numerous occasions throughout the show, I was wondering when we would find out about it. I think Jim Robinson (Mr Widmore) has some involvement with Dharma, which could go some way to explaining how his daughter knows about the island.

The giant stone foot with four toes! WTF was that all about?

That big bird said Hurley's name!

Other stuff from past episodes that I've also found interesting:

There's still no explaination to the power cable running out of the sea that Sayeed finds early in season 1.

The Ana-Lucia flashback episode where Jack's Dad goes to find his daughter, I'm sure the woman that answers the door is Claire's mother, which would make Jack and Claire half-siblings!

Ermmm..there was other stuff that I have forgotten...

        Three things struck me :

        1) The "others" didn't seem overly bothered about Desmond turning the key & presumably destroying the swan.

        2) I stil don't see how so many people could survive a plane being pulled from the air like that but then I guess nothing is what it seems anyway....

        3) The bit with "Mr Friendly"'s beard between him and Henry Gale was a bit strange - kind of a "Aw Shucks" moment......

Ace series. I just love the way it keeps you hanging on - watched most of S2 last weekend, and watched 22-24 yesterday. Watching it all at once really does help - so i'm gonna start from the beginning again!

Monkeywrench: I'd presume that cable he found would explain how the hatch gets power!

I was waiting for Sayid and co to rescue Jack etc from the others, but then the sky went crazy, and the russians appeared. Major WTF moment, and then to see Desmonds Mrs being told about the island?! ARGH!

          Can't wait for Season 3!

I'm not really fussed that i'm still clueless - I just love the whole flashback thing, getting to know the characters inside out! I just wanna know what happened to Locke!

Kelvin is the kurgan from Highlander and from Carnivale, another tremendous tv show HBO just had to axe after the second season :angry
He's also the prison guard in the Shawshank Redemption.

See, I'm really hoping the flashback thing will stop with the third series. I want to know what's going on with the island, and most of the flashbacks in series two did nothing to connect the past with the present in a way that actually revealed anything. They bogged down the narrative, as there's only around five or so interesting characters in the series who are worth getting to know.

If that's an indication of series three, count me out.

              However,

perhaps if the flashbacks were focused on the others, Henry, his second in command, the guy with the fake beard etc.etc. then it might be more interesting as then at least the show would reveal how things on the island came to be.

Dinnae forget that Desmonds Mrs Dad (name escapes me) was listed on the yacht competition doc which he showed Libby in the diner as "Philanthropist" - I betcha him and Hanzo are co-funders or he's carrying on work started by Hanzo.

With enough time and money you can find anything you want or words to that effect - another reason also I believe her Dad is somehow involved in this whole thing. Desmond refused his money so he's had him stuck on the island with a button to push - worked for quite a number of years it seems !!

My guess is that the sky going mental has something to do with them being in some kind of enclosure (mentions of it being a snowglobe throughout the series - and the fact the others told michael to keep a very precise course - maybe a little "door" in the enclosure?) - maybe some kind of "forcefield" surrounding the island (which is kept up by the magnetic field which is kept going with the numbers + button) and now that Des messed around with his key and broke the hatch, maybe the "forcefield" is down, and the sky going crazy was the the "forcefield" dispersing - thus why the russians can now see it on their radar? Who knows!

Also, DC's post got me thinking that maybe the numbers are actually co-ordinates to where the island is, and there is some device that they are feeding the co-ordinates too to keep the island hidden (some crazy satellite?). Ah, so much speculation! Almost anything is possible in this series!

                              Yosh, I presume..

..that was simply the machine or whatever (ie turning the key) killing off the electromagnetic thing on the island. Now the question is, is the island now visible? Hence why those Russian scientists saw it on their computer and phoned Demonds wife..

I am guessing a) the electromagenticthingymajig is what caused the plane to **** off. Perhaps not control it, but mess up its guidance system, but its still not explained why the plane was off course in the first place

                              b) Desmonds boat went off course for the same reason, his compass system broke.

Hey, maybe there will be the Mortal Kombat island and the island from Pirates of the Caribean there too!! lol

Yep I'm digging the Truman show style explanation BUT - They (others) weren't that pertubed by the sky going nuts - surely if the island is visilbe the game's a bogey ? WTF are they ? the middle of Antartica?

                                September 6th NOW please......
