I watched Bodyguards and Assassins - not sure I can really describe it as a kung fu movie but it had some good action pieces, Donnie Yen as ever brilliant. As a film though I really enjoyed it - great piece of HK cinema.

i watched that the other night along with Battle of wits. It didnt really do much for me, like
alot of those big budget movies, the story line tends to suck ass professionally.
But im in total agreement with you, Donnie is brill, i just didnt get enough Yen action in B&AComment

14 Blades - yet another Donnie Yen flick. Whilst it looked like a mish mash of a few different movies, I enjoyed it nonetheless. Perhaps too much wire work, but when the hand to hand was done, it was done very well.Comment

I've not got as many as Finsbury - impressive - but I've mainly got Jackie or Sammo films or a few others if they've got good extras or a Bey Logan commentary. I prefer contemporary settings, but there's a few classics I bend the rules for!

I think Cine Asia/Dragon Dynasty are proving to be a good label at the moment. I picked up Fist of Legend and Champion the other day and both feature a Bey Logan commentary (and Impact's Mike Leeder on Champion) and loads of extras on their 2-disc special editions.
I need to watch a few more kung-fu flicks, but I've been addicted to Lost Planet 2 and Red Dead Redemption the last few weeks!Comment

Seven Swords isnt a HKL release it came out after HKL finished, i think its a Contender Films release like New Police Story and others.
