Meant to say I watched: The Legend is Born - Ip Man - purely as I saw it had Sammo and Yuen in it. Sammo must've been in it for like 10 mins and Yuen was wasted on this - not sure if it was because of choreography or his age but I was certainly disappointed.

Overall the movie was ok, not a patch on the Donnie Yen ones. Some half decent fights and it killed some time on the plane. 5/10

With YouTube links, you only need the bit after "v=" in this case, lI0xzJKVAVo.

Oh man. I want to watch this, but I also don't want to spoil any good bits from the film!

Has anyone seen anything recently? Are you all watching Eastenders instead, or something? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

My Kung Fu has been severely lacking of late, sifu.

I watched Jackie Chan's Mr Nice Guy, which I've been meaning to watch for ages seeing as it's directed by Sammo Hung and he definitely makes JC look his most powerful.

Television reporter Diana films a drug deal that goes wrong and then has to spend the rest of the film running away from the mob, usually in just her underwear, with only mild-mannered nice guy Jackie to save her after she bumps into him on the street with the mob in pursuit.

Basically, the evidence tape swaps hands several times as the various groups seek to get hold of it, the mob, some gang members, the police and JC's chums are all trying to get hold of it.

What follows is a series of scrapes and scuffles in typical JC style, the most notable being a sequence in a tower block construction site, which manages to combine classic Chan fighting with the sets and a bit of comedy. Well worth seeing. Interestingly, it didn't finish how I expected, with a big dust up between JC and Richard Norton, but had a suitably spectacular end with another Countach getting destroyed.

It's one of those Australian films so it has a similar vibe to First Strike and features Brad Allen ("Gorgeous" and Scott Pilgrim fight co-ordinator) as a henchman.

It's nothing special and you could probably just watch the construction site fight on YouTube, but it's a fun 90 minutes.

VP, nothing is disbanded, we've just been on spiritual journeys.
I expect a few more films will be watched once I burn them for Prinny!

Why today? Was it something I said? The Eastenders comment was a Seinfeld thingy.

Finsbury saw the Ip Man film, I wanted to see that but got all Ip Man'd out. It took 20 years of Wong Fei Hung films to get to that point.

Sifu? I don't think I could differentiate between Quavers and Snaps in my current exhausted state. Mr Nice Guy was probably the last JC film I enjoyed more than just a little bit.

Shinobi7000, man, imagine your Mr. Miyagi to my Karate Kid, being shown the top films during a montage sequence to "You're The Best Around".

You have taught me well, Sensei.

Prinny, all but Jade Hairpin are down, so I'll have a burn-a-thon at the weekend!
