I saw that trailer when I saw Indy at the cinema. Very odd indeed.

The 22nd Bond picture is the shortest yet, but feels like one of the longest. About an hour in, I began to feel something I haven't for quite a few years in a Bond film - bored.

First review I've seen. Not sounding very good.

Hmm, it is just the Daily Mail so I will take it with a massive pinch of salt, but some of those criticisms sound plausible: Marc Forster is not an experienced action director, and they have had to spin-off a new storyline out of the very slight Casino Royale, etc. Obviously, I'm really hoping the review is wide of the mark, but I am a little more cautious now.

Sounding good to me. I loved Casino Royale but it was a bit too long.
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

As a stand alone film, I thought Casino Royale was fantastic. Very watchable... However, for me personally, it just wasn't bondy enough. Despite loving and following all the Bond films I find myself completely uninterested in Quantum of Solace (haven't been even slightly intrigued by any of the trailers sadly). I'll definitely go and see it as i have one of those wonderful cineworld card thingys (so i pretty much go for free! yay) but my expectations are, well, i dont have any. Thats probably no bad thing, mind.

Not followed the hype for this at all, but read at lunchtime that this one is really edging more towards the Bourne type movies, making it even less "Bondy" as Adam would put it

Went to see this today. I'm not sure what to think, still processing it. It was quite plot heavy and I don't personally think it was as good as Casino Royale. I understand, however, that it was more expositionary, expanding on Bond's character.

I did love Gemma Arterton's work though

                  best. oil. covered. derriere. EVAR!

I officially hate 12A films now though. Absolutely f**king rammed with kids whose interest was on the wane after 5 bleeding minutes. Does the 15 rating even exist anymore? First the Dark Knight now this.

Did the film have fight scenes that are actually watchable without going ''I feel sick'' or ''stop cutting so much!!!''. As I enjoyed the Bourne movies, but there action scenes are horrible, it's just one big blur to try and make the action more exciting but just ends up annoying me and you can't see what they're doing.

Are they more like The Dark Knight's fight scenes for instance?

To be honest, the fight scenes are very, very Bourne with lots of cutting. Without spoiling things there's a set piece near the start that I struggled to follow and kind of hurt my eyes because of the cutting. Later action scenes are more flowing though and easier to follow.

does this one have the proper Bond intro this time?

                            Spikecast:

No, same as Casino Royale, Bond theme at the end.

Oh, god, that stuff's the bane of my existence. Cropped, too short to see. I don't want to know what happened - I want to actually see it!!!

I heard a quote somewhere the other day, relating to that:

the composer said they felt Bond hadn't earned his theme tune in Casino Royale. At the end of Quantum, Bond does the scope scene. I'm guessing they think he's earned it now.

Saw it this morning. It was better than I expected, but I went in with low expectations. Mark Kermode said it was a "mess". It certainly wasn't a mess, it just lacked a little personality and the story wasn't all that interesting. But I'd rather that than ever go back to the mediocre films of the Roger Moore era... or, god forbid, Die Another Day.

I felt they got it the old formula spot on with Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies. I'd like to see it pick up some of the personality in the next film; although, I don't miss the gadgets or jokes...

Great movie, bleak and violent as hell.
This and the dark knight really pushed the 12a rating
