Vertigo enjoyed it, but dare i say i thought it was a bit overrated...*hides*

I started watching The Spirit last night. I have never known a film so boring and uninteresting. I switched it off after 30-40 mins as I couldn't take any more!

I'm with you there. There are some fabulous parts of the film (The opening, the use of colour, the final scene with that last shot, Stewart's performance), but also some laborious parts. Watching Stewart follow Kim Novak around in her car for ages seems unnecessary.

It's often cited as Hitchcock's Masterpiece, but I's much rather watch The 39 Steps, Rebecca or North by Northwest.

I watched 'Martyrs' last night. Bleak, uncomfortable watching. Didn't enjoy much.

On the plus side I just got a 3-month Lovefilm trial, so will be getting in plenty of DVDs shortly.

[EDIT by badbear] I've thought about this now and realise that this film was a great laugh and I think you should go and see it!
It's not utter ****e at all, really enjoyed this, made me laugh a lot especially when Chris O'Dowd or Rhys Darby were on screen. I don't know exactly what you were expecting badbear, but I had no illusions that it would be anything other than a funny feelgood comedy film with a great soundtrack, and that's exactly what it is. Ralph Brown was also excellent

                    So check it out!

I need to see this, I think I will be forced to go to the cinema.
(I hate the going to the cinema)
Saw In Bruges last week and thought it was ace.

I watched High Plains Drifter the other night. Great stuff. It's the type of film that's ideal to watch when you're a bit battered.
