Hadn't seen this one before so it was interesting to see the 'true' sequel to the original two. If you ignore the awful and disrespectful Halloween: Resurrection it's an alright closer. Not scary or forboding at all but reasonable enough.
Did you see how they carried on the story for Resurrection after how H2O ended?
    I laughed my head off.
    Pun!

Bloodrayne. Not sure why. I enjoyed the GC game, so thought I might as well. Really odd film. Great actors being ****e. Almost like... on purpose. And wtf at Ben Kingsley just sitting on that chair the whole way through.

Tintin. Missed the first half hour but I really liked it.

        Megamind. Loved it.

Unknown - Mr Leeson again in great form. A good, intelligent movie, well acted, good script even though the major plot item was a little telegraphed, it still retained enough surprises. I thought Bruno Ganz's character a little underused though. January Jones is super hot. I must get around to watching Mad Men at some point.

            Bee Movie

Jerry Seinfeld's voice annoyed me a fair bit but I thought the film was great. The Ray Liotta honey had me in stitches!

            Troll Hunter

Figured it'd be shakey-cam nonsense but luckily camera technology has come a long way since The Blair Witch so even found footage films like this are watchable now without the risk of looking less genuine. I liked the trolls, I thought they were really well done.

Yeah we quite enjoyed it when we watched it. Also, Megamind is awesome!

I didn't used to like non-Pixar CGI cartoons, and for a long time the only non-Pixar stuff I liked were the first Shrek and the first Ice Age. Recently I've seen a few more and I'm loving most of them now.

Megamind: Over here, old friend! In case you've noticed, you've fallen right into my trap.
Metro Man: You can't trap justice. It's an idea, a belief!
Megamind: But, even the most heartfelt belief can be corroded over time.
Metro Man: Justice is a non-corrosive metal.
Megamind: But metals can be melted by the heat of revange!
Metro Man: It's 'revenge', and it's best served cold!
Megamind: But it can be easily reheated in the microwave of evil!

So hungover today the only thing to do was watch 3 movies in a row:

Flesh + Blood, 80s Verhoven medieval romp with Rutger Hauer and Jen Jason Leigh de-robing often, pretty decent.

The tree of life, overly long bad movie, it has good qualities undone by its inflated self importance.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. Totally ballin.

Watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and then How to Train your Dragon. Both are aces.

                      Continued horror streak meant:

                      Friday the 13th
The recentish remake, not too bad. A bit choppy for the first 20mins and the final scene blows but decent enough attempt.

                      My Bloody Valentine
The also recentish version, completely sucked on every level.

                        Safe

Was just expecting the normal action-fest with this which is was, pretty thin on the ground story and you could have a good guess at what was going to happen.

But what you dont see in the trailer is how it makes itself stand out just a little. Throughout the many action sections of the film 3 or 4 of them have really good camera angles and sound sections. Its hard to explain but you are feeling the action from a characters point of view.

For example as your inside a car rather than just hearing bullets sounds flying over head, they are a little muffled, car sounds are much louder, and shouting coming from all around. Seeing people getting shot, but its not a shot were as if focused on this happening but more like somebody's head looking around really fast panicing.

I hope thats a good explanation as its really hard to describe! Its not much to write home about, but its nice they have put the effort into what would have been a plain action flick! Worth a punt if you ask me.

Moneyball: Don't know a great deal about baseball, but I do like Brad Pitt. This was ace. Good story of two men trying to run a baseball team based on statiitical analysis rather age old scoating methods. Like I say, I no next to nothing about baseball but was still able to follow it easily. Based on a true story as well.

                            Nightmare on Elm Street

GF had never seen the remake so we bought a cheap copy and put it on last night to find the original version disc had been given to us by mistake, for the best really. It's somewhat laughable to watch these days but you definitely get the sense that a proper remake of it could be brilliant as long as they make a thorough effort and stop giving it to amatuers

Shame, this is a great movie, on the surface about a well to do guy (Fassbender) with sex addiction, utterly grotty and uncomfortable to watch.

Watched Borat earlier. Some really funny moments

like when he ran after his manager with no clothes on into that conference

, but it was all a bit too cringe worthy for me.

Next up on my comedy hit list: Feris Bueller's Day Off.
