It'll be a shame if this is piss flaps. The supporting cast is decent, I've always got time for Bryan Cranston and Bill Nighy.

Had David Cronenberg made a Total Recall film it would have looked something like this:

Probably chocka with spoilers if you haven't seen the first one!

I was going to give this a miss, but since it has Jessica Biel in it, I'm in.

Looking great. A new release of the original is coming out on bluray this month. Got the steel book preordered on play.

Looks much better than I dared to hope it would.

If it was good in its approach to the whole "is it a dream" scenario, then it could be decent, but rather i can see it being terrible, and the trailer doesnt stir anything up for me.

The lack of mars is a big dissapointment, and the director cannot be ignored.

I'm not too worried about Wiseman. The first two Underworld's weren't directed the best they could be but between the two there's a decent sense of improvement, then Die Hard 4 was easily the best directing he's done. This seems to be quite action heavy too so presumably it should be fine. I don't mind Farrell in it either despite not being a fan of his, it's the script I'm cautious about.

I saw the trailer for this last night and I couldn't believe how much they gave away!

                          "Three hands"
                          Traiterous wife
                          Evil co-worker

                          ...and so on!

I try to avoid trailers these days as they ruin so much of the plot and visual impact (I saw The Raid, The Avengers, Batman 3 and Prometheus without seeing the trailers), but I'm not really sure how much plot they've got left to show. I know it differs a bit from the first film (no Mars etc.), but I don't think it's plot heavy judging by the reviews, it's mainly a series of chase and fight scenes.

Thing is, it seems to be getting some good reviews, so it must be doing something right!

I watched the trailer for the original for balance, and to be fair it does show a lot too. I saw it on the strength of hearing Arnie was in it and the Robocop dude directed it back in the day, but it's a lot harder to avoid spoilers these days!

I look forward to seeing what people on here think of it.

I'm looking forward to this. After In Bruges, Farrell is allowed to be in anything he wants, and not be harshly judged from lofty, draconian perspectives. Even when he's/it's f*cking ****, when he actually partakes in cinematic ****.

Main thing I'll miss is Ronny Cox. Love how people's faces look so striking in Verhoeven films!

The problem with this remake is that taotal recall did not need a remake at all. Picked up the new blu ray of the original film te other day and it's perfect the way it is and holds up well.

Even if this is good it will still seem pointless

My confidence in the original merely makes this a bit of 'on the side' type of potential fun. If it's good, I'll be happy; if it's ****, it'll be rapidly forgotten, and will be very hard to 'totally recall', uh-huhuh.

                                The original? Remake? Huaaarghahahah!
