People who don't understand why film grain is there should start using their TV's noise reduction control if they don't like the look of it.

TVs noise reduction will not effect film grain Lyris, it targets signal weakness rather than something so deep as film grain.

It depends on how it's implemented. Often the NR in TVs is a temporal filter so can be quite effective in covering up the grain. In cases where it's spatially based and just cuts off the highest frequencies in the image it can also be effective at removing coarser stuff.

I can't imagine it working on a BR maybe on a DVD, unsure.

Either way im with you, film grain shouldn't bother people, digital artifacting on the other hand....

IMO, they're welcome to be bothered by it, but they need to understand that there's really no ideal alternative and on an HD format, you'll see all of the film - whether or not they like the look.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is being released on July 15th as one of Warner's digi-book sets.

I'm not really keen on their digi-book format but I'm definately interested in the film.

Not really sure what they'd class a budget but they'd need to be under £200 really.

Sweeney Todd is an excellent release - the TrueHD soundtrack is absolutely perfect throughout, adding so much range and volume to the music/dialogue. It looks ace too and I'm not sure why I've seen so much criticism of it...I didn't have a problem at all apart from a little bit of (what looked like but probably wasn't) macroblocking. Not that it matters of course because everything else looked great and I really enjoyed the film

watched Short Circuit last night, and while the transfer is reasonable for a 20 plus film, the film itself is **** lol.

Got the rambo trilogy today, but not sure when i'll weatch em

Movietyme often have deals on (All three Rambo films are/were £8.99). It's going to depend entirely on the title I would think.

Are movietyme still incredibly naff at sending films out? I get Blu-Rays from DVDslimited they day after I order them, but Movietyme has a lot of good stuff in at the moment.

I find the problem is their unpredictability. I've waited two weeks+ in the past, but recently I received V for Vendetta prior to the official street date and the PS3 version of GTA4 (Despite a fairly late pre-order) was with me the friday after release.

The big thing with MovieTyme is always whether they have the stock in the UK or the US. The US stock obviously delays it but they do tend to post stuff as soon as they have it in so you can get it really early as 45 said above.

They are the shop I use the most for import BDs.

A couple of covers from Warner. I imagine I'll be picking these two up at some point!
