dvdworldusa are also rather good - order on a Sunday/Monday and you'll have them for the weekend. Also pricey, like Movietyme - unlike Movietyme, their customer service is excellent if you have a problem (which has only happened once), and they don't seem to have any delivery problems, either...

Jonathan Demme's a bit obsessed with Q Lazzarus. They featured in Married to the Mob and Phildelphia as well. Although I wouldn't call The Fall "tacky synth music."

I'd agree. I switched from Movietyme to DVDWorldUSA a short while ago. Movietyme and AxelMusic seem to be hit and miss for me these days delivery & service wise. DVDWorldUSA shipped my Battlestar Galactica box set this week from Florida and it arrived yesterday. But they are pricey.

Oh aye yeah, Hip Priest is used during the climax of SotL, forgot about that, whereas In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda is used during the climax of Manhunter. Hmmm. Let me think. No, I'm deffo siding with Bill on this one.

It's weird because Mann is normally spot on with his music choices, but the Manhunter soundtrack is seriously ****ing horrific. Apart from Graham's Theme, that one's alright.

I've never had a problem with Movietyme, they just seem to be getting more and more expensive every day, they were always cheaper than playusa, but now they are much cheaper and offer just as good a service

The only problem with PlayUSA is their Canadian-sourced discs: dual-language covers don't bother me - Canadian distributors that lock discs that are region-free in the US does, though.

Not sure if anybody else is bothered but Monsters Inc. is out out on blu-ray in the UK tomorrow.

I can't recommend the film enough it's difficult to imagine the disc being anything but close to perfect when it comes to quality.

Yeah mine shipped from Play.com on Friday, should be here tomorrow morning I think. I actually have never watched film before so I look forward to watching it for the first time in HD.

Just watched Coraline - it's another victim of the Cinema Craft HD encoder's default (blurred) encoding settings, but still looks very nice.

Most importantly, it's the best film I've seen this year

                          Rant begins

Did me shopping tonight. Local ASDA. Checked the Blu-ray section and notice that both Watchmen and Monsters Inc are out. Both region free, both go in the trolley.

Finish my shopping, pay for my food and both Blu-ray and am told by a nice, polite lady, to meet her at Customer Services and they'll be waiting for me there.

Head on over to Customer Services after bagging all my yummy goodness and stand there for 10 minutes. After another 5 of me and the wife saying "they'll be here in a minute" I decide to walk up to the entertainment desk and find out where my films are.

There's a sealed copy of Watchmen laying on the counter, openly nickable by any chav git that walks by, which I assume is mine and the slip case for Monsters Inc. No staff. I stand there for another 5 minutes before a random member of staff comes out from the back room and I ask about the items I am waiting for.

                          "No keys" she says.

                          "I'm sorry" I reply.

"No keys. Boy phoned in sick. He got keys to drawers. I's okay cos this is the only one left".

I turn round and point at the 9 other copies of gutted Monsters Inc cases and ask about those.

"Oh, maybe I's more than 1 then. I'll have to give you a refund".

I tell her that I don't want a refund, I would like the film I have actually already paid for.

                          "Can't, no keys".

No apology, no nothing. Meanwhile, there's a guy stood next to me trying to buy a Wii Nunchuck. The woman looks at him.

                          "No keys".

I mean, FFS!! Why is there only 1 set of keys? Why is it the only person on the entertainment desk in these places the one with the poorest grasp of the English language.

I work in bricks and mortar specialist games retail and these are the people apparently taking away customers because of their loss-leader pricing (which, going by how much Watchmen was selling for isn't much of a reduction over other high street retailers now).

In short I will now be buying all my Blu-ray online. Impulse buy or not.

                          Rant over.

On a seperate note, Watchmen looks like it should be awesomeness. Plenty of HD features too. Lovely

Just a shame those extra features don't include 30 minutes of cut footage

                              ^Oh, didn't realise that.

On my way back to ASDA now to return it.

Will order from DVDWorld when I get in. Don't want to chance PlayUSA and their dual language Canadian packaging.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but whoever has used DVDWorldUSA how long does delivery take? (i've been waiting 3 days with no sign...)
