Point proven I think; the dialogue is laughably bad. But, yes I fully agree, it makes Spartacus more entertaining because of that.

That's not really bad dialogue, it's just unique. It's actually written into the show pretty well. Bad writing would feel out of place, it doesn't, the viewer accepts that this is how these people talk.

I always appreciate it when writers build upon the world a show is set in by giving it its own lingo, it helps draw the viewer into the world more.

Its one of the reasons Firefly was one of the best TV shows that has ever been produced, it had such a rich and absorbing world, it felt unique and like it had been fully developed before the first episode even began.

The latest episode was really well done I thought, probably one of the best in the entire run. Really nice throwback to the original series too.

One more to go I believe. What started out as a trashy but entertaining show has actually become surprisingly powerful...and trashy and entertaining. Going to miss it when it's gone

Just starting the 2nd (3rd) series (Vengeance). Not sold on the new Spartacus as yet, although I must admit, Andy Whitfield was absolutely terrific and a bloody hard act to follow. I'm hoping when Gannicus turns up, it'll add a bit of spark. Loving the return of Illythia though :-)
