Word is that the film had a strong line of director choices because they were interested in the storyline which will follow Clark Kent as he travels the world fairly early in his life to decide if he should become Superman

You think? I quite liked the eradicator. It's been done a lot, but a Superman without Clarke's sense of morality is a good concept.

Leaked, maybe to make more people appreciate Returns, the costume for Burtons rejected 90's Superman Lives film with Nicholas Cage

Im 3/4's into reading Superman Birthright graphic novel at the moment, so far its excellent and Im not really a superman fan.

Would REALLY translate well as a fast paced but very fleshed out reboot for Supes.

Check it out if you can.

Why does that look like Tim Burton himself?

Christ almighty. I remember when Cage was linked to Superman a few years ago, but that surely isn't him........

Thats gotta be a photoshop?? That outfit wouldn't look out of place on stage with the village people

Rumours are abound that this guy from Watchmen is the frontrunner to play Clark Kent

Also, that in a massive potential mistake whenever Superman is on screen it would be entirely done via CG which would be awful as CG is phenomenally far off being able to do a convincing lifelike human character.

Bah, why cant people who can actually act play both Clark and Superman? Thats why Reeves portrayal of both is so under rated IMO. He was a such a good Clark and an even better Superman.

I completely agree mate. The first two films get better with age. Some great scenes in those like Lois' 'death' and Clark returning to the Fortress of Solitude to try and get his powers back. Reeve could really act.
But I don't think the CGI route is necessarily a bad thing, especially as they are only talking about CGI enhanced. It's the way they would have done it back in the 70's if they had access to it. Plus he has time to fill out the suit. I remember hearing that when Christopher Reeve went for his audition they told him to get down the gym for a few months and then come back in again. Plus I'm pretty sure they still used some padding on his suit. You only have to see something like Bronson to see how much muscle someone can pack in just a few months with the right training.
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

Agreed, although some people are more dedicated than others, Im sure Bale did BB straight after The Machinist so he was a flipping zombile like skeleton and went to a supremely fit hero.

Having Superman in CGI is an awful, awful idea. One of the reasons I disliked Returns was that in the flying sequences he was animated. It just looked like a cartoon.

That Nicholas Cage pic above is terrifying.
