Robocop 2 was a bit meh but the idea of a robocop replacement was excellent
especially the fight between them
but i love robocop and had still quality to this day, there is a certificate X version of it floating around - probably been passed by BBFC now that has excessive ed-209 shooting and Murphy more or less being blown apart
for the guys that have just watched it - give robocop 2 a shot, not as good but ultimately enjoyable but wholly avoid Robocop 3 at all costs

Was thinking about finding the other 2 and giving them a watch, regardless of whether they are good/bad. Will be interesting to see where the concept goes....
Also buster - that x version sounds like the one I watched anyway? I can't see it being much worse than it was, nor would I want to

The third film is terrible, and almost as bad as the pg rated tv show. Its not worth the bother.
As for which version of the film you watched, both versions are extremely violent, people just generally get shot more times in the uncut version. Paul Verhoven actually prefers the theatrical cut as he thinks the uncut version is too comical becuase it's so over the top.Last edited by rmoxon; 01-05-2012, 00:27.

I have this cut on BluRay. Got the Trilogy for ?10 in HMV!
The first is by far the best. Murphy loses a whole hand. Then an arm. Then gets shot in the head. Savage.
Such a greeat film from start to finish. You really empathise with Murphy throughout. Loved it.

Basically the only things in the mega version of Robocop are that
when Murphy is cornered, after Clarence shoots his hand you see Murphy holding his wrist with gore spilling out, then the first shot from the other guys takes his whole right arm off, and the officer Kenny/ED-209 scene shooting goes on for ages.

Nordling here. I'm very interested in Jose Padilha's take on the classic Verhoeven movie, because I don't think it's going to be note-for-note like everything we've seen from TOTAL RECALL, for example. Padilha is an incredibly talented...
Gary Oldman has signed on to play a major role in the film as a character who wasn't in the original films suggesting more so that this is not going to be a like-for-like remake.

I am – Hercules!! Could the nation’s cinemas be getting a 35-minute-longer “director’s cut” of Joss Whedon’s “Marvel’s The Avengers” this August? Such a cut is already rumored for a forthcoming Blu-ray release. Both ComicBook.com and...
