Having watched A Movie Oddysey last night this looks horrible:

        Come and See

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is horribly downbeat. The scene where Ottis finally loses control completely and attacks his sister is truly awful, as is the resolution, then the grim ending.
Tetsuo: The Iron Man is also quite grim- like a cross between The Metamorphosis and Eraserhead.
Oh, and Pi. Shocking scene in the bathroom, where his insanity reaches a peak and Max takes matters into his own hands.

A very realistic docudrama detailing the aftermath of Nuclear war. Find it on Youtube.

Has Alex not seen any of our our suggestions or, worse still, seen them all and jumped off a cliff!?

Even worse still I think he cherry picked a set of cheesy horror films (and the Pete Jackson King Kong) and rolled with those.

Skank view adds to the effect! Even watching it in 10min segments feels like I've recovered the ancient film reels from a long lost vault.

                      "Burnley 1, Bolton Wanderers 1."

I'm copying this here to make it top of the new page, it needs emphasis and should be King of this thread.

I stumbled upon that on ITV one weekend last year. I don't know if it was cut for TV but it was quite horrible and harrowing.

Yon Kelly Reilly would get it big time.

Some of these films sound mind-crushingly depressing just from the plot descriptions I've read. Watching them might be a step too far.

I haven't read the whole thread, but surely someone has mentioned I Am Legend?

Brazil might be a good one too.
