Bob Iger, one year after returning as Disney's CEO after ouster of Bob Chapek, said he was dismayed at the company's performance under Chapek.
Bob Iger says that he will step down in 2026 and tries to pretend that no-one knows he hand chose Chapek, laying all the companies woes at the latters feet. In response to why Disney has struggled he also points the finger to creators within the company
He says their job is to foremost entertain, not to promote positive messages. He says that its great if a film can do both but the creators should prioritise entertainment more.

Platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ were supposed to do away with pirated media. Instead, they may make them stronger than ever.
After years of decline Movie and TV piracy is on the increase following subscriptions diversifying widely and many items regularly being removed leading to an increase in the number of people turning to torrents rather than juggle multiple subscriptions

"Beef," "Bear" Dominate 2023 Emmy Awards - Dark Horizons
Beef won five Emmy's at last nights awards whilst The Bear won a total of six awards in the comedy category
I don't mind The Bear winning awards and I know it's sold as a comedy drama... but if I was making a comedy series I'd be ****** that it had muscled in and swooped up the awards given the utter humourlessness of the shows content

The 2024 Oscar Winners - Dark Horizons
Oppenheimer took 7 Oscars last night including Best Picture along with Poor Things taking 4. Godzilla Minus One took an Oscar for its visual effects whilst Robert Downey Jr took his first ever Oscar. Because the Oscars were never going to allow a film like Barbie to take home the gold they allowed it just a single Oscar, for Billie Eilish's tie-in song.
