    Spot on Prinny.

GRRRRRRR I HATE SHAKEYCAM! I'm tempted to wait for the Blu ray release now.

I would mate, the only reason I'd say to watch this at the cinema are either you can't wait or you want the audience anticipation with "oohs" and "aahs" although I have to say Enfield cineworld is full of lifeless urchins!

Can't believe they made it 2.5 hours long, really too much for this type of film, nodded off a few times in the first half, storyline seemed nothing new/original at all. Action was the usual over the top martial arts, alot of it seemed to be in fast forward, quite a bit of shaky cam too. The gore was really there just for the sake of it, shock value etc.

It was passable but thinking about it I would probably have enjoyed it more on Bluray, taking a break midway through, didn't help that the cinema I went to has that awful seat layout where the screen is so far above eye level.

Jackie and Kurata - legends. Kurata is amazingly underrated outside the niche circles. Your job is to watch Legend of a Fighter, Chimpy Chower.

I forgot to say that I saw this again at the cinema the other day and I enjoyed it even more the second time.

I was able to take in the plot and the characters a lot better, so I understood what happened.

Also, I was primed for any camera shakes, so it didn't upset me this time. I just got excited every time I knew some people were going to be imaginatively beaten up...

Also, I managed to enjoy some of the shots a lot more. The prison mud fight is primarily one handheld shot throughout and there's only a couple of clever cuts.
Also, that car chase sequence with the amazing shot that goes through the car was still breathtaking. For those who've seen it and want to know how it's done, prepare to be amazed...

I love how a limited budget means Evans and the gang have to think outside the box to get these kind of shots!

                Can't wait for the BluRay!

"The Blu-ray and DVD each come loaded with extra content, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the making of the film, including more than 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes featurettes, as well as a deleted scene and filmmaker commentary. Gareth Huw Evans? process of transitioning the story from the first film to the sequel is explored in the ?The Next Chapter: Shooting a Sequel? featurette. In the ?Cinefamily Foundation Q&A? featurette, Gareth Huw Evans, Iko Uwais and Joe Trapanese discuss the making the film. Exclusive to the Blu-ray is the ?Gang War? deleted scene and two additional featurettes. Fans can take an inside look at the elaborate fight choreography in ?Violent Ballet: Behind the Choreography,? and ?Ready for a Fight: On Location? features the cast and crew on the challenges of filming in Indonesia."

Seeing that poster reminds me how unnecessarily long and convoluted the film is with all the characters. Looking back the fact that

Ramas brother gets taken out in the beginning when he'd proved himself to be handy in the first film

had me off on a downer from the start.

I agree that the start undoes the first film's efforts to almost Alien3 levels of frustration, but ultimately it gives Rama the additional motivation to go undercover.

I really hope Edwards gives Rama a happy ending in The Raid 3!
He deserves it after everything he's been through!

I enjoyed the film a lot more on its second viewing, bash, hopefully you will too.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the Blu release, hopefully the shakeycam was down to the cinema screen and not the movie. I'm pretty sure that was the case with the first movie. Plus I can just fast forward all the **** I dont like anyway.

                            Erm...hello "Tina".

You missed The Raid 2 at the cinema by nearly 7 weeks, sorry.
It had a pretty good run and my local Odeon was still showing it last week.

The DVD and Blu-Ray comes out on the 8th July in the US, so not far behind in the UK, I'd imagine.

I'm guessing there's another steelbook coming with artwork by Jock again as here's a preview of the inside artwork:

Whilst I'm here, it looks like The Raid remake has been delayed until 2015:

Fans of the cult classic “The Raid” may have to wait a little bit longer to see how the Screen Gems remake turns out.

Sources close to the production tell Variety that plans to begin shooting the action pic in September have been pushed back and pre-production has been halted. Insiders add that the film isn’t being put into turnaround and that the plan is to still shoot in the first quarter of 2015.

The film was getting close to a greenlight as execs were zeroing on an ensemble with sources indicating that Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo and Ethan Hawke were frontrunners for roles. However, other insiders said no casting decisions had been made and no offers were sent out. It’s possible that one reason for the delay is that producers are seeking a bigger name.

Patrick Hughes is still on board to direct.

Brad Ingelsby penned the script. XYZ Films is producing the pic.

In the 2011 original, an elite Indonesian S.W.A.T. team raids a building where a gangster and his thugs are embedded and chaos ensues. The remake will have a similar storyline.
Scott Adkins and Mark Dacascos need to be in this...

The suggested actors are awful unless its a monumental effort in the fighting dept like The Matrix movies.

Isnt Dacascos too old now QC? I must admit I havent heard or seen any recent efforts from the man. You mentioned 2 talented MA stars I guess but more importantly it needs a talented director and choreographer at the helm.
