Love it. It's very Aphex Twin. But as you say, it demands a decent setup to do it justice. I'm always surprised how poor familiar electronic tracks sound on youtube, there's no resolution to them, no dynamics, and those basslines need to be felt, not merely heard.

@Charlie: Yep. I've had friends try and listen to some of this stuff on laptops or cheapo hi-fi speakers, and unsurprisingly they don't appreciate it. Just doesn't work. Shpongle is cool btw, I like this track I heard from Anthony Pappa's Balance mix.

They really are fantastic. I got Urban Hymns back in late '97 when I was 14 and just starting to 'get into' music and the whole album blew me away. I found their earlier stuff less accessible back then and only really started to appreciate it when they reformed in '07. History from A Northern Soul is possibly my favourite ever song, and as a band they are up there with The Smiths and The Stone Roses in my eyes.

When i've had a crappy day, these two Ray songs help lift my spirits......

And he does one of the best covers ever....

Right now the whisky is helping as well mind you.

Kev Brown - Always. Chilled hip-hop a non hip-hop fan may like...?

Alexander O'Neal - If you were here tonight. Man I love this tune.

Whoa, loving that Amos Lee track, reminds me of Ben Harper. Which is a good thing.

Album ordered, nice one PSTB. Now listening to this, a real whisky song!On topic though, this week I have totally rinsed my Pearl Jam collection as I recently had a conversation with a pretty cool girl about them. Still one of the best bands around.

This isn't a band I've really investigated, but stumbled upon some of their music on Youtube tonight and I'm really enjoying it:
