Every Time I Die - The Big Dirty; Great album from these guys, full of dirty Rock n' Roll riffs and great lyrical excerpts such as "You know I'm no good at court-ordered goodbyes!".

Idiot Pilot - Wolves; Excellent sophomore effort, definitely have come a long way from their impressive debut album. This is the work of a more mature outfit (there's only 2 of em'). Sounding like the bastard child of Sigur Ros armed with riffs and the great drumwork of Chris Pennie (ex-Dillinger Escape Plan/Coheed & Cambria); the album boasts ten superbly crafted songs.

AOTY - so far - for me... until the new Dillinger one hits, anyway.

Quite possibly the best electronic music i've heard since The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation.

That's terrifying. I've been listening to both of these today too! Obviously, our corrupt uncles managed to get us copies of them...

Cave In are a remarkably strange band though Sean. I LOVED one of their albums, more mainstream and full of great rock songs, but their other stuff isn't to my taste..."Antennas" or something I think the album was called.

Or are there two bands called Cave In?

Cave In used to be a brilliant hardcore band, then became a bit 'Foo Fighters' esque and released some decent albums. Their latest album, Perfect Pitch Black, mixes both styles really well and is one of their best.

Aye it's really good. If you like that, you have to get Digitalism - Idealism. AOTY so far for me.

                  yellowcard - paper walls

actually a stonking album, if you know yellowcard and what they do you'll not be disappointed. still the only application of a violin in a rock band that works.

Don't suppose anyone's listened to Static-X's "Cannibal" yet have they? I'm dying for it to not be...well, ****. I keep hearing that it's "as good as Wisconsin Death Trip" but after the last couple of albums...

'tis on the way anyway like, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else had bothered with it.

Still listening to Snakes & Arrows at the minute anyway, great stuff.

cannibal? listened to it a few times, it just seems difficult for the sake of being difficult. didn't get on with it at all.

*edit: just re-listened to a few tracks, it's not as bad as i remember.

                          Seconded!

It's very daft punk imo which is only a good thing!

Does anyone know if there will be a release of the Video Games Live concert that featured in the Halo thread. I really want it!

They sort of jumped radically from "Until Your Heart Stops", which was blinding screamy hardcore, to, as Lllama says, kind of FF-style bombast. My favourite thing by them is Jupiter, especially the opener and the brilliant "New Moon".
