It occurred to me today (listening to Ben Folds "supersunnyspeedgraphic") that I haven't heard a remix of "Songs of Love" with father Jack interspersed with "drink, feck, girls" and a good ol' "feck orf cup".

Does such a remix exist, and if not, why not?

Just in case nobody knows, "Songs of Love" is the song wrote by the divine comedy that they used for the Father Ted theme, and Ben Folds covered it on an EP.

Now listening to We Are Urusei Yatsura by uh.. Urusei Yatsura.

One of the best real indie bands of the 90s by a long shot.

Ady, you know it. I loved that band. Once saw them, Mogwai, Delgados, Arab Strap and Ac Acoustics share a bill. Nearly had to have a wank.

Leningrad Cowboys: Zombie's Paradise. Really silly (and awesome) collection of covers from Finland's premiere rock band. Really interesting stuff like heavy metal version of You're My Heart, You're My Soul.

The Stranglers - Rattus Norvegicus. It's well cool, bleeding £2 in Morrisons and bonus tracks aplenty(!) I love The Stranglers.

Also trying to download some BG Knocc Out and Dresta stuff but it's taking ages.

I'm one of those people who has music playing pretty much all the time. Whether i'm gyming, going for a run, relaxing in my bed, sitting by the lake feeding the ducks, writing my book or drawing something... music is always there with me, playing in the background.

I was born deaf (had an op when i was three which thankfully sorted that out), so i feel very lucky and grateful to be able to hear and appreciate all the talented souls out there. There has been many nights when their words, their music and their voices have offered comfort...

Anyhoo! Today i've been listening to a couple of my favourite heartfelt songs:

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley (what a wonderful song, been on repeat for much of the day? A timeless classic and one that I hold very closely to my heart)

Songbird - All Angels (this has many versions, all are wonderful but the All Angel?s version is my favourite)

Stupid Like This - Daniel Powter (I?m not a great fan of this chappy, I didn?t get along with his Bad Day single, but there is something about this song that I love. Probably one of my most played songs and I will never tire of it)

                Also have been listen to

I?m About To Come Alive - Train,

Everybody?s Gotta Learn Sometimes - Beck (the version from the brilliant Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

Dont Let the Sun Go Down On Me - Elton John & George Michaels-

It's been a nice thinky day...

                      Another thumbs up from me.

In fact Grace hasn't left my CD player for the two and something years that I finally managed to get of my arse and buy the full thing.

                      Amazing album.

I recommend any of her albums to anybody fascinated by creative explorations of the guitar. The woman's a genius.
Just wanted to say thank you for this. I went and tracked down some of her songs and there's some astoundingly good stuff there.

Gay Sons of Lesbian Mothers is a genius track - so chilled and vibrant

                        Glad you're feeling it, Spatial.

'...Until We Felt Red' is a very good album, and the fact that is isn't just acoustic instrumental numbers gives what she does a bit more range and depth.

Been listening to I’m About To Come Alive by Train, a lot today. Really has grown on me, i think it is a lovely tune.

Also been listening to Damien Rice's Cannonball pretty much all day. Alongside Hallelujah this is one of the most beautiful songs ive ever listened to.

I hope you're listening to the PROPER version of Cannonball Adam, not the radio-pop-version?
