I really hope they don't string it out for another 2 series. Id much prefer one kick ass series to finish it off with a bang.
I don't think i can cope with many more Battlestar dramatica episodes

Rocking. Loved the music build up to the final scene.

I've been racking my brains all evening trying to figure out what the tune reminds me of.... ABC - When Smokey Sings. /me dives for cover.

Well at least that's one less thing to watch in the evenings for a while, so I can watch a film instead. I don't really mean that. Bring on the next series now for god's sake.

                  From

Baltar talking to the first mate guy on trial - "everyone knows in the fleet knows you tried to stab me in the neck but you missed, butterfingers!"

                  . The delivery was superb.

Tigh being a cylon is really going to screw with his head, he's near enough insane as it is. You remember a while back when they chucked that cylon out of the airlock, and he whispered into Adama's ear - bet he told him Tigh was a cyclon then

he could have but he would have been lying. He wouldnt have known the identity of any of the five and would have known for a fact that Tigh wasnt a normal cylon. Same with the Adama suggestions.

I doubt it. None of the other Cylons (except

                      that one D'Anna unit

) know who the final five are. I just realised that ruins my previous theory as well, so don't feel bad

I'm interested to find out what the fact that Earth music was "like something from childhood" (paraphrased) means, since I'd assumed it was to do with them picking up old transmissions from Earth.

I'm also really want to know what point in Earth history they're going to arrive in. Looking at the flash of Earth that we see it's obviously not pre-history or early humans (you can see the Great Lakes which puts it after the last Ice Age), so are they going to arrive in the modern day? Or the future where Earth turns out to have a massive space fleet that can decimate the Cylons, X? style? Or something else entirely?

One thing got me wondering about the finale.

Since the chief is a cylon now doesn't that mean his and cally's kid is a hybrid and all that fussing that roslin, Athena and caprica 6 are doing over herra is rather pointless since little nikki is a hybrid too?

Yep, the Moore interview posted earlier touches on that. Apparently it'll be an issue in the next season.

My bad. The chief and Ty said their parts earlier on.

I think that's the most important thing - surely using that specific song places them way in the future.

                              Maybe it's something like this:

Life / Man begins on Earth.

AI/Cylons invented on Earth around now (our real time, 21st century).

Cylon war on Earth (the whole History Repeating Itself theme, very prevalent in the Starbuck story).

Man flees, winding up in Kobol [unknown time].

Man leaves Kobol, 3000 years pass. The Five, possibly in disguise, guide them to the Twelve Colonies. The Five now believe in the sanctity of life. They've changed from their original killing ways.

Cylons "invented" on the Twelve Colonies possibly under the guidance of the "original" Cylons (The Five), but possibly not (I'm thinking not myself - maybe all AI ultimately evolves in the same way)

                              First Cylon war.

30 years pass, Second Cylon War.

The "evolution" we're seeing in the Cylons - trying to live with Man on New Caprica, trying to breed, etc, are all things the original Cylons experienced. You'll notice how three of the four Five we know, Tigh, Chief and Anders, all defended valiantly Humanity on New Caprica. They appreciate Humans, maybe the way the new Cylons are learning too.

The Five are helping guide Man back to Earth, to the origins of both species, to save both species.

I reckon that could all be pretty much on the money.

                              Or not.

Where this leaves Starbuck is anyone's guess. They won't be lame and make her Apollo's "Ghost-Buddy". I don't think she's the Fifth either. She's something else. There are possibilities.

I hope that Starbuck isn't another imaginary friend. It works with Six in Baltar's head and when he occasionally pops up for her, but when we've had Adama's wife appearing in his head, Leoben for Starbuck, and now the possibility of Starbuck being in Lee's imagination it's pushing the plot device methinks.

On the possibility of the Cylons already being on Earth (whether in the past or now), I hope it's not something like that. The fact that the Cylons are also actively looking for Earth using the same clues as the fleet suggests the it's not that simple. What's clear is that there's more to the Cylon plans than the annihilation of humanity - New Caprica, the obsession with cross-breeding, the plans for Caprica Six and Baltar, etc - so I get the feeling that season four will be running off in weird directions.
