I don’t see why that in particular is a much bigger issue than any of the devastation that is subsequently ignored in most Marvel movies, except when convenient for plot purposes. Or indeed the ongoing question of where the other heroes are in the individual movies when there is a huge threat. I get that it’s very hard to follow such a huge event movie but not because of the blip itself, more just because you can’t keep one-upping the scale and the stakes.

I think that's the differential with the Blip. The end of Infinity War was an event and was marketed as such and by reversing it in quick order it meant that once the hype passed it feels more empty. If they spend a decade building up to an event and then it's wiped away so quick it's hard to recreate that momentum. Essentially, if they can't one-up the scale then they need these events to have a lasting impact so the audience stays invested and takes them seriously. It's like a version of the multiverse argument, whether it diminishes the weight of events.
