Wow, they've got a hell of a lot of faith in this format. The advertising in the UK for it has been absolutely wall to wall. So many buses trundling round London with it on and I've had loads of ads on YouTube for it. And now I discover there are about a zillion international formats from day one as well. Qui rit, sort!

I'm a big Jimmy Carr fan so I found out about this show it via his YouTube channel. I really can't understand why the UK version isn't available in Japan.
This is the first time something has not been available. How odd. The only English versions are from Australia and Canada but they are not the same or even close to UK humour.

Bel Air: Season 03
The recent news that the fourth season is the last is likely a good move as the show really spins its wheels on this third outing. It repeats a lot of ground covered by the second run and whilst it's still continuing to largely follow the same arcs as the original show it tends to be the new strands which suggest the show isn't suited to running a long time under its own steam. There's a drug addict girlfriend who annoys for most of the run, Phil & Viv entertaining a foursome for a moment which will never sit well in the mind when your operating in the shadow of the minds view of the original show, and Geoffery who is two minutes away from being turned into John Wick. The fourth season is yet to film so the whole thing will be written with the intention of being an ending, as such I'm expecting it will nail the landing and end in a similar way to the original show which will save it from jumping the shark.
We've started watching Laugh Out Loud as well, 3 eps in so far and yep - it isn't remotely the set up I expected it to be. It's really good and I'm glad most of the ones I would want to last the distance have.

We finished Last One Laughing (Prime) and it was brilliant. "Morning?"
We also watched the last episode of Gangs of London S1 (NowTV). It's taking a while to get through as the missus can only take one episode at a time.
Second series is also great, so I'm looking forward to watching that, then onto the latest series, which recently dropped.
We also finished the latest season of Reacher (Prime) and it was another fun watch. Nothing revolutionary, but a great watch from start to finish.
I'm dipping into Big Bang Theory as a lunchtime easy watch. I'm onto S2 and I'm looking forward to them getting girlfriends. Howard was particularly repugnant and creepy in those early seasons. There's plenty of laughs, though.
I'm also watching One Punch Man S2 (Prime) and it's a bit boring, if I'm honest. The plot is progressing at a glacial pace, but there are some fun dust-ups and OTT fight moves.

Win or Lose
Pixars most recent and final series. Each ep is a from a different characters perspective leading up to a big baseball championship final and it works really well, the last ep doesn't really pay things off as well as the other eps set them up just because 20+ minutes isn't enough to satisfactorily pay off seven stories but overall it's good fun.
Last One Laughing Ireland
Bouyed by how good the UK version was we tried out the Irish version which Graham Norton presents. Yeah... it wasn't very good. It certainly highlights the difficult balancing act required in selecting which comedians should be in together and whilst it was interesting to see some rules come up that never did in the UK version because certain scenarios didn't play out to require them this also highlighted that the format heavily leans toward particular types of comedians.
Last One Laughing Canada
Otherwise known as the one that tipped us over the edge to sticking just to the UK version in future. This version suffered the same issues as the Irish version in that the comedy isn't just a different sense of humour that is less suited to the format but beyond the other versions several of those on the show have enjoyed international recognition and so there are bigger ego's in the room that cannot deal with others taking attention from them or their jokes not getting a response even though that's the point of the show. The only real reason we pulled through with it was that Colin Mochrie was in it.
Not just as a general rule in comedy but particularly on the show - if you walk into that room with props, you might as well turn heel and walk straight back out. Same with reheating your old material for six hours, it's not only old but also the others are likely already familiar with it. If you can reasonably hold your nerve but in any way have any improv skills you're making it to the final hour. It's why UK series 2 rumours of Peter Kay etc are daft, he may entertain it but he'll last two minutes.

Yeah, we struggled with Ireland and gave up after 1 episode of LOL Ireland.
Co-worker said some of the other ones are decent, but I don't think we'll bother.
We were watching a bit of Would I Lie to You and was wondering which comedians would do well in the LOL house.
Only really watched a couple of eps of Gangs of London S2 this weekend.
It's still great and the story is possibly better than S1, but it misses Gareth Evans' touch with the action, IMHO.

finally managed to get through Goliath season 2. This was really really hard to watch. Story all over the place, some weird arse **** going down, WTF did we need to see the amputee fetish? Some of the developments were so unbelievable it was getting ridiculous. Anyway it pretty much had no real resolution, no consequences and as a result it was very underwhelming. Billy Bob is great but I hope season 3 goes back to being a legal series. Going on episode 1 I'm not sure it will.

Finished Gangs of London (NowTV) S2 and are crashing through S3.
It remains an interesting watch as the key players constantly shift between who their alliances are with.
We just watched Ep6, I think, which had one of the most insane kills yet. We're talking Riki-Oh levels.
I'm unsure if I want a S4 or just a decent closure to the show before it outstays its welcome.
It's not boring or anything, but I just don't want it to shark-jump.
I don't know why more people aren't talking about this as it's been a great show.
We started The Bondsman, which also has some gory moments. Kevin Bacon is the eponymous character, trying to make sense of events after his last arrest, which was most unusual. Interesting enough to want us to see some more.
We watched a bit of QI (iPlayer) to lighten the mood after them two.
We started The White Lotus (NowTV) because everyone was talking about it and it sounds a bit rubbish from the description ("People got to a holiday resort"), but there must be more to it. However, having watched the first episode, it seems to be "unlikeable people go to a holiday resort."
Has anyone else seen it? Is it worth pursuing? Is there more of a mystery to unravel?

We're currently watching The White Lotus Season 03 and there's definite diminshing returns. Each season is impeccably shot but in essence they're repeating the same story every time - a body washes up, horrible rich folk are shown to each other to be *shock horror* horrible rich folk, death turns out to be less moustache twirling than set up to be, rinse repeat in a different country - it's fine, just one of those shows where the level of praise far outstrips the content.

I've also been watching Thunderbirds as all the episodes are currently on YouTube.
I know it's of-its-time and with AI getting so popular (even the Academy Awards have stated AI-made films are eligible to win an Oscar), but I just think there's an absolute charm to these shows.
With his frustration at not being able to make full films and compromising by making puppet shows, I think Gerry Anderson went on to make his own genre.
As I watched an episode, it made me think that in this age of 3D printers, why someone hasn't tried again as I think now's a perfect time.
Personally, I'd rather watch a puppet show with real models over AI any day, especially with the skills of your average Warhammer painter these days - they'd look amazing.
Anyway, here's a lovely documentary about the making of the anniversary shows that used a couple of full-cast recordings to become new episodes.

Wrapped up the final few episodes of Cobra Kai this weekend.
What an absolute waste of time filming those in 4K HDR because I was bleary-eyed throughout and could hardly see anything. It looked 360P at best!
Crikey, what an emotional rollercoaster. I cried when Robby said “it’s given me my dad”. Not figuratively, either
Overall a fitting end to a cracking series. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
I’m so glad Kreese died a hero. And a ****ing badass one at that.
