I watched Infinity War with my son on our 3D Marvel watch and convinced him that it's the last film and half the heroes are gone.
Mwah ha haaaa!
We watched Ant-Man and Wasp (3D Blu-Ray) yesterday (set pre-snap) and loved it!
It's everything that works with Marvel. Lots of fun, likeable characters with great banter between them and an exciting caper to enjoy.
The big/small gimmick is a lot of fun and pushes all those buttons like Land of the Giants, The Borrowers and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. Some nice 3D effects throughout, but especially so when they shrink down between the atoms.
I also saw the newer Gunn Suicide Squad (NowTV) and it was decent enough.
It's a more violent and sweary Guardians of the Galaxy, so you either think that's brilliant or unnecessary.
I'm not a massive fan of Harley Quinn, if I'm honest. When Joker's around, she's the victim of an abusive relationship, when he's not there, she's this absolute ninja of destruction, knowing how every gun works and every martial art.
I loved the final 20 minutes, though, but it felt a bit like a different film.
I took the kids to see Clifford The Big Red Dog at the cinema and it was bearable, but I don't think they were gripped.
The two leads had good chemistry - Jack Whitehall as the awkward uncle and Darby Camp (Christmas Chronicles) as the outsider kid at a new school. Best joke was during a fight in a deli and Whitehall throws salt in a guy's face then knocks him out, then sprinkles salt down his arm. I properly guffawed at that.
Went back later and saw Matrix Resurrections. I really enjoyed it. Not without fault, especially the shakeycam in the train scene, but had me gripped enough to get the thrill of being back with the Matrix gang for a while. Feels like I'm the only one who gets anything out of the original sequels, so I guess it's the same here. *shrug*
