I don't think Otome will getting really going until a 'twist' happens like in Hime,

i bet we've all figured it gonna have the Otome fighting each other, the setup for this was very clear when they got into the grave room and Nina's reaction to 'fighting your best friends'. We still have the Cryborg vs otome to go yet which i reckon won't be the main story for the 2nd half of the season

You missed out a few. Karin, Shakugan no Shana and Kamichu are a few that come to mind.

It's quite difficult to choose a top 5 IMO especially from some of those anime listed. But here goes:

I've decided to leave out the animes from the current season as I don't think I've seen enough to say how I'd rate them relative to others. Then there's a few honourable mentions such as Bleach, Mahoraba, PetoPeto San, Ichigo Mashimaro, Suzuka, Kamichu, PaniPoni Dash etc....

Beck, Genshiken and Honey & Clover are all amazing.

didnt really want to say something thats still going, but i guess i'll have to say Yakitate Japan, and Bleach was/is great...much better than i imagined it was going to be at the start (knowing zero about it that is)

things like ichigo mashimaro and paradise kiss look like they're going to continue being great, but they havent been on too long so i will leave them out of a top 5.

A couple more eps i would say Ichigo Mashimaro would have taken a spot, same with Shana, 2ndgig just took to long to get going and it's huge sub time hurt it a bit for me. Beck didn't make it cause of that awful final episode really pissed me off, among other things cut to fit it into 26eps. Eureka Seven enjoyable but there top 5 are better, and GSD is which very good, hurts becuase GSeed was so much better.

I'll admit the last episode to some/many was a cop out, though I thought they went about it rather creatively and it's still true to the manga's story. For me personally, if Studio Madhouse had come up with their own contrived ending then it would have hurt the series even more. I highly recommend the manga if you're after a lot more than what the anime left you with in terms of closure or continuation.

The manga is very good, i started reading after the final epsiode up where its currently translated at(c69 i think). I would love to see the full american tour animated, its easily enough to do another 26eps.

managed to get to download black cat 9 and 10 thanks to a good guy

at least somebody responded to my plea - everybody else to busy downloading them to help

anyway the new story in black cat about Creed Diskenth and the apostles of the stars is fantastic

both episodes were truely brilliant - loving this series even more
