Oh yeah. It seems a couple of groups called Vagrant-Anime and Anime Reentry are doing Kurau now. Their writing is appalling, mind you, with misspellings all over the place, but it's watchable and understandable. Glad I can see the rest of it now.

I am the translator in question responsible in VA for subbing Kurau. I'm also a fellow UK importer. If you had watched our first Kurau you would have seen that in fact our subs are not atrocious but that episode was encoded before it went through QC. A QC was in fact done but the encoder was too hasty. We have a new system in place and it will not happen again. Nobody is perfect and we all need others to check what we write especially us deslyxics. I just thought I would reply to this because the UK anime/import games scene is very important to me and the reputation of my group's work is something I take great pride in.

Hey! welcome to the thread i think dache mean't grammar and sentence structure, which is the editors job not yours, after finding out that your sub was done in haste, its quite understandable that the time consuming things would be neglected in favour of a release. I look forward to the continued improvement of your subs.

Not to much stuff this inthe last week, got FMA 40 onthe download for when i get home, waiting for more Naruto, Ai****eruze Baby, Maria-Sama s2.

Watched some more Fafner(sp?) its looking more and more likely alot of those kid's are going to die, still i hate it when they had new plot elements like the Neo-nation and don't explain why there hiding from them and the Alien/dead thingys.

Thought people might want to know that Anime-Keep now have subbed the first 2 episodes of DearS.

I'll let you know what the quality is like after viewing, but after seeing alot the anime in Japan, its well worth a download.

That's fair enough, but it's not like I and pretty much 98% of the rest of the people who downloaded your version knew that. There's some really awful subbers out there (cough cough Anime Heaven's Naruto ep 91 cough AnimeJunkies), so everyone's first thought is going to be "you suck" rather than "oh, it just didn't go through QC", isn't it? Can you really blame me for that being that first thought? I mean, really? Really?

So yeah. Kick your encoder in the nuts.

(Oh and I didn't watch your first Kurau because I'd already downloaded Kyu's first ep before they pulled it, and since they pulled their ep 2 only an hour after release, you were the only other subbers who'd done Kurau)

Just finished watching the last episodes of Paranoia Agent, and I'm very pleased about how this ended. I wasn't really expecting to get any kind of resolution at all, so having an actual end to the story was a bonus (although it wasn't the end of course). One grumble I have though is the fact that there were filler episodes. The series was only a 13 episode run, and it really lost all focus during the middle. I think it would have worked better as an OAV.

This series, as mentioned before, is highly recommended and due to the stupid sounding change of "Shonen Bat" to "Lil Slugger" (and other possible horrors) in the western release - now is the time to do it.

I also finally got around to watching Otogizoushi 1 too. Quite stylish with lots of mythology/historical content. Raiko and Tsuna (the main characters) could have been cooler though, and the yelping assailants were a bit stupid. I know that criticism has been levelled at the dryness of the political intrigue in the show, but I thought that the sections based around the Heian court were the best parts of the show.

The art style is very different too with strong use of static backgrounds and stylised colour-themed sections (the opening use of red was very eye catching). Overall this show could go either way, but if you like the atmosphere of the Tenchu games (and Otogi too) then this will be a hit.

Finally got round to watching sensei no ojikan the other day. I love it a lot more than azumanga daioh (even though its a rip-off), it really does the styling a lot better (especially love the constant thought signs).

This week I took a complete break from fansubbing/scanlations. Next week is gonna be HARSH, 2 anime series and about 5 manga series to catch up on . If anyone has ANY suggestions for FUTURE anime/manga series worth doing let me know, I'm always open to suggestion 8).

what are you currently watching NM?

With no net connection over the weekend at home(and today by the looks of it), I got the catch up on series I've left unwatched for ages,

Texhnolzye - finished the series from ep19-22, quite the massacre near the end, shame they all died, I quite like that nutjob and ren, liked all that stuff about it being like Purgatory and Hell/heaven.

DearS - ep1-2, so far, so good, better than chobits so far and Rei/Ren(can't recalled her name) is less annoying than Chii being there practically took her 2eps to learn nearly everything unlike the the 15+eps it took chii ^^

Cheeky Angel - (Tenshi No konamiki, can't remember the spelling that well) i had left this on the self for ages, no idea why as it still a top class comedy i had stopped at ep 28, so i watched 29-38 laughing all the way. Soga has to be one the funniest, completely inlove nut cases around. anyone know if it still being subbed, i remember i downloaded ep38 ages ago.

I'm gripped with the samurai 7 stuff atm, episodes 5 and 6 are now vavailable over at animesuki.com. And i can't wait ^^

I'm now going to watch the samurai champloo eps i've left to watch samurai 7 instead!

As Paranoia Agent is full of metaphor and allusions, particularly in the specific naming of each character, all I meant was that it deserves to be seen in its "original" form.

I'm no expert on western official subbed releases, but if they are prepared to alter one name, then I?m presuming an entire westernisation of the show will happen. Also now that the series has been finished the seeding will drop, and it will become harder to get.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer

(I'm just going on rumour about the "Lil' slugger" thing, but it seems to have a lot of supporters though)

Ive jus recently watched 'voices of a distant star' and i must say this is one beautiful anime! truly poetic. If only other animes were as good looking as this. yum yum! Anyone else seen it? im not too sure if it is old or new sorry, looks recent though.

112 sekai no senki is meant to be a superb series, i got series 1 & 2 about a month ago all ready to watch, and then that hdd died (2 week old 200gb) so that hurt, sortof scared me away from the series... will come back to it VERY soon.

Tobal, I finally started watching city hunter and ruoronin kenshin. pretty good series both of them, i also tried to get into ragnamart to no avail.

I have to say i also enjoyed what i've seen of tenshi no konomaki even though it has some of my least favoured artwork ever.

Just thought the clamp fans would be interested to know that a new clamp anime is starting at the end of the month, supposedly more orientated to children it should be interesting none the less.

Also anyone else notice the glut of gonzo stuff doing the rounds (including music vids) man they are really causing a storm.

Slightly off-topic anyone watch any k-movie/k-drama/dorama stuff? i need some comedy tinged suggestions if poss.

new miyamoto, are you only after korean stuff? If you want some good j-dorama, I recomend waterboys 2 (currently airing in Japan) and my beloved 'Stand Up!!'.

Love those shows.
