I like how they've how that tense supsence again most of R2 battles have been missing as it truely could go either way now Schneizel knows of geass, and of course Charly's up to something shady

Macross F ep17 - Decent episode,

Omza brooding over the singing was abit annoying and his lets go see the 1st live show even though im bleeding was more stupid than GAR. Still wasn't expecting the vajia to have that evoluation trait and almost seems like they pulled it out of their asses to force the use of songs in battle as there was no hints or information on this prior to this episode.

World Destruction im still watching, but im not sure why as the animation and art style are quite bad but i like the OP and the character are decent enough, i'm hoping it gets better once more plot comes our way.

Slayers R ep6 - wooooo,

Xellos is here and being a badass. Anyway, at least we get some proper set up for the plot and 3 disposable villians before my best bet of the real big bad being Rezo turning up to see out the 2nd half...not sure if i want to see him return again as i was hoping for a 3rd dark lord, but could easily be wrong about this

Was a bit strange, but it was odder that they seem to kill him off and then save him? would have been better if he'd died imo...

Saw the Clannad extra episode. It was a lovely story. Hasn't really changed my mind much on any of the characters. Tomoyo was always my second favourite but I can certainly see why she is a fan favourite. I suppose things might have been different if they had done the whole series with the Tomoyo angle in mind and I guess my opinion may change further if/when the game is fully translated and I can play it. The one thing she does have over Nagisa is that I think I prefer Tomoyo's VA. She's probably my favourite one on a par with Paku Romi and Koshimizu Ami.

Still it was nice to see a different take on the world with the same sort of characters. It almost makes me wish they'd animate the entire routes from the games i.e. have one series for each character involved in that route. Watching the OVA just cemented my preference for this over Kanon. I need to watch Air soon too (I feel like I've been saying this for years!).

Just watched the latest Geass and even though its good, i think no matter how bad the situation it will just pan back to wehn Lelouch used his Geass on someone and he will escape

its happened every time for the last 17 episodes - hope this isnt a long series as it will just get tiresome pretty quick

i think only zap and i still watching it but the last ep of Angel Heart was subbed. Been following this for ages and the last episode while devoid of any action was abit of emotional one for Ryo, and its super rare to ever see him looking so hurt which it always works very effectively they they use it . So long Ryo, it be long, long time before we see any City Hunter antics again be it original or Angel heart universe.

I strongly recommend people watch Detroit Metal City. Just seen the first ep and I have laughed so much for ages (since the 'Fuukas got the heart break' Yotsuba& chapter anyway). Series is about a Death Metal singer who puts on an act for his band but really wants to sing love songs. Great parody of that kind of rock.

Amatsuki finished. Bit disappointing really. They solved the crisis that was going on and started on the bigger overall problem that they were showing all the way through the series then they just suddenly stopped with no resolution. Clearly hanging out for a second series. Other than that, it was fairly good.

Edit: Also saddened to hear of the death of Eri Kawai responsible for a few anime tracks but the most noticable were the operatic performances for Athena in Aria.

Code Geass R2 ep 17 - more stuff to pull out of their asses. The geass powers must be great things for the writers of the show because you can just bull**** your way through it using Lelou's extreme planning skills and his geass. Pretty ridiculous but enjoyable all the same

I thought the whole Ozma thing was the very definition of GAR really. I mean all the supposedly "GAR" characters ever could be viewed as doing something stupid. But that's part of the point IMO. The whole thing seemed to build up to his death so I'm glad they didn't finish him off. It would have been too obvious. Just once I'd like to see none of the build-up that tends to go with these main character deaths (And that was pretty much what I was thinking when it looked like he might be dead). I mean the impact is still there but it sort of takes the element of surprise away. I'm inclined to agree with Tobal regarding the evolutionary aspect of the Vajra though. Unless I've missed some of the hints they've dropped in the past it seems like this has come out of nowhere. Still it was surprising and explains the songs in battle thing. So I guess it's okay,

Maybe I'll read around a bit to see if those hints were dropped. My memory of the early episodes has faded somewhat.

I may be abit late to the party but ive finally finished Aria (well bar the AtO dvd special that i need to track down), and what a superb show it was, so laid back and easy going, with a wonderful feeling about it. Character interactions, settings, story, pretty much everything was spot on. And as with all truly good shows i have that strange feeling because theres no more, and ill miss it ever so slightly (dont know if anyone gets that, may just be me being strange). Im not going to hope for more, bar maybe the odd OVA, as it wrapped itself up very nicely, and trying to get anymore out of it may just spoil it.

Oh and why im here, what group are people using for Xam'du subs? There seems to be quite a few, none of which i recognise.

I don't think it matters as they all use official subs, just pick a decent encode.

Pretty much what Tobal said. Unfortunately I think most of the encodes out there have some problems. I have been informed (reliably or not, we shall see) that the [PLAYSonPS3] or the [Fabulous] releases are the ones to go for.
