Just watched the last episode of KNT looks like the current series has ended, however the story is not over yet accordin from what i have heard online so i know there will be a second season.

Kind of sad now as i have no new anime like it to fill my thursday evenings & look forward to

I think we all knew what we going to happen when there thunderstorm started above his house.
The baddies - alien cockroaches? - look set to appear in ep2, having been called to Earth by Joey's teacher who was pretending to be the president/whatever of the planet.
I think this is one to follow, although there wasn't quite as many cries of "rocket punch!" as I would have liked (i.e. zero).
A few echoes of Kurogane no Linebarrel but without the mildly crazy protagonist.

Oh and Heroman's eyes remind me of Medabots...

Saw ep1 of B gata H kei. It was fairly amusing but I suspect the premise will get old fast.

Watched the first couple of Kimi ni Todoke today.

Very nice and laid back with a nice twist on the classroom romance story.

Makes a change from the hyper-crazy ecchi stuff I usually watch!

Found Kimi ni Todoke completly average especially considering with others in the genre. Not a patch on Lovely Complex.

I think your in the minority there zero, i like Love Complex to but i like the characters better in this show, the secondary cast in LC are pretty forgettable and was left to the 2 gingers to make the show what it is(and it did finish with them going out). While knT has Ayane/Chiz and Ryo.

now for a the new shows.

Angel Beats ep1 - Haruhi meets Eva. very confusing first episode, all i can make out is that they're all living in the afterlife within a school life setting while waiting to be reincarnated or fighting against reincarnation... those that choose not to fight the system become 'NPC' and if they do fight they become targetted by an EVA'esk Angel, but they can't die if the angel gives them a mortal blow but feel the pain anyway. Lots of stupid stuff in it so far like they can't die, and where the heck did they get those weapons from. I can imagine this will be slapstick for a half a the show then become serious as people start really dying for some reaons or vanish as they become reincarnated.

B Gata H Kei ep1 - felt a bit uncomfortable with how everyone in the show is promoting underage sex, but it a very different from everything thats gone before it and raised a few laughs at her slutty passes then sudden backtracking when she can't go through with it. Going to watch it for now but im not sure if they can keep this single joke going for a season.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama ep1 - Not a bad show, very similar setup to Special Class A from a few season ago, poor girl balances top class scores and a job while being looked out for by the most popular guy inthe school, the main guy looks like School rumbles Imadori but without the stupidness.

Heroman ep1 - Joey, Joey, Joey, Joey, Joey, Joey. Didn't like it much, art was decent but the simple start is so very american and boring, i hope it goes somewhere other than search and rescue, the way Joey,Joey,Joey control Heroman is to stupid for words and the character himself is a total idiot.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou ep1 - this season Kampfer/R+V but with better art/animation, not bad for a first episode guy is born to be next evil king of everything but has grown up to be nice guy with insane strength goes to a harry potter school for magic surrounded by harem of magic girls that will eventually fall for him. The annoying censors all over the shop point to waiting for uncensored eps or dvd rips as there's just to many to ignore.

4chan is going completely crazy over The Disappearance of Haruhi. Almost universal glowing praise for it which is pretty unusual (doesn't seem to be sarcastic praise either).

Don't want to watch a cam rip though. When's the DVD come out?

Been a while since the last post which has given me more time to watch the new shows around. As normal Durarara continues to be very enjoyable and with the "2nd" season underway it introduced some great characters like the Docs crazy Dad and the Kamen Rider'esk Policeman. Cetly seems to have had abit of a personlity change since the end of season 1, she's more of a cultz and alot more friendly toward people, ep15

gives us some background as to why Anri is the way she is, and it looks like we'll get to find out what this event with the slasher was 5 year ago.

Not a big fan of the new opening and ending, the 1st OP/ED are way better.

K-on!! backs, up to ep3 now and its seems to have gone even more into the timewasting slice of life setup more so than season 1, but have small problem with some of the forced moe/humor creeping in where Yui acts even stupider than is possible for a real person to act and breaks slice of life element for me, still its very enjoyable even if the plot goes nowhere and they act abnormal occasionally as i like characters, animation and art. Also like the way they've even put time into the school room seat fillers . The opening when i first heard it sucked balls mainly because of the sped up voice but i've found myself liking it more and more, but the ending is a lost cause as it's not a patch on the original.

B Gata H Kei ep2-4 - i really like this show now, Yamada one track mind and then chickening out has me laughing all time, that stuff in the town park had me in tears. After fears they couldn't keep up with the same humor seems unfounded now we're 4eps in and is one to keep watching.

Heroman - So very close to dropping this depending on ep4/5 if it doesn't improve on the punching ****ty looking aliens while shouting heroman, its gone.

Arakawa Under the Bridge ep 1-2, bit of a surprise package this, had no idea what it was going in to it but it turned out(so far) to be the best comedy of the season, its got the right mix of humor and complete madness you can only find of social outcast and hobo's living under a bridge, a must watch.

Giant Killing ep1-3, shock/horror a fairly realistic football anime in the same mold as Whistle, and in a neat plot element it focuses on the manager instead of a star player so kind of feels like the Code Geass/Deathnote of the football world as i keep expecting him to say "just as planned". Good show so far.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! ep2-4 - pretty average but the relationship between the main leads really drives the show and makes it worth watching so im keeping with it for now.

Angel Beats ep2-4 - It keeps the surpises and entertainment coming, they explain some of the problems i had with the settings like the weaponary and technology and the level of violence is pretty shocking sometimes

when they "die", that resident evil film styled lazer wall was uber nasty. They've also started explaining of the backgrounds so far and they've been pretty harrowing, from Yuppi we get only part of the reason she's here, the lead band girl died from aneurysm due to family violence after life of working hard to make her dream come true and i assume baseball kid was a drug addicton related.

One neat touch i like is the ending credits update the character roster witht that episodes deaths/disappearances, new faces and new friendships.

Katanagatari ep4 - a new month, a new episode.

This one was pretty crap mainly for the reason of his sister being very unlikable. I'm all for "loli's" beating people up but she just came across as a total dick, i found myself rooting for the maniwai instead, putting it in context i would say on a s1 Code Geass's Suzaku dickhead scale of 1 to 10, she would be 11.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou ep2-4 - well the subber are doing the uncensored eps now so im keeping with it . As i said before it Kampfer/R+V with a budget. The introduction of the green hair girl and her musing's really make the show shine and the violence in ep4 was pretty shocking, i've never seen so many people taken out by twisting and break bones in such a gruesome way from a "good guy".

I got round to watching the first 3 eps over that past couple of days and like you had a rather pleasant surprise as i went into it knowing nothing. Its easily my favourite show so far this season. Seems to be a mix of shaft style and gintama style jokes and just random crazy stuff. Defiantly a must watch.

i've only seen a couple of new shows so far.

K-on, is still excellent.

Hakouki, watched the first two episodes of this, and absolutely nothing happened. no idea what its about... literally nothing... dropped straight away.

Heroman, it is a bit crap, but for some reason i'm sticking with it so far. but theres nothing really special about it. but it does seem to be moving at a reasonable pace though.

Arakawa under the bridge, i think is great too. the best new show so far i think.

House of five leaves. samurai ends up working for a bunch of kidnappers. only seen the first, but have the next ready. like the style, and has a few likeable characters already.

Senko no night raid. what was that show with the contractors? special ability people thing. seems a bit like that but more old fashioned. first episode was ok, but i dont think i care enough to carry on.

still got the first Giant Killing to see too.
oh, and the third naruto shipuuden movie is rubbish too. nonsensical plot, and not massively special fight scenes.

After those 3 glowing recommendations, I finally got round to starting Arakawa myself tonight. Fantastic stuff. I love the wierdness of all the characters.

Edit: Small edit, I keep expecting the Kappa to pull the Yaranaika expression.
