any reason to keep watching bleach or naruto? All seems like constant horrible filler.

Well i just finished watching Yakitate Japan & i really liked it from start to finish, i really didn't think it dragged on. I knew there was going to be 3 battle story arcs, it ended on a happy note & i felt it really didn't need to go out of it's way to explain any more. Kind of educational too, learnt loads about Japanese food hehe
I was well excited when i pre guessed a wordplay joke, they were parodying Naruto & they were doing shadow clones (kage bunshin) well seeing as that episode was on about onions i was thinking Negi bunshin & to my amazement it's exactly what happened as loads of spring onion clones appeared & me sat there chortling.
Thanks for the suggestions peeps i will have a look through & see if theres a show for me to go for next.
Kind of given up on Naruto for a while now, the Pain arc was epic the battle between them was totally awesome. Sadly it's now world of filler & i cant bear it, i want to continue the story. Before timeskip i didn't mind the fiillers but nowdays im growing weary of them.
Still need to catch up with Onepiece but i'll have to wait as i dont have a big enough hard disk to hold them all yet as im way behind, last one i watched was when Nami collapses & they are getting ready to meet Chopper for the first time. Yes im that far behind.Last edited by importaku; 28-01-2011, 01:27.

Got my Sengoku Basara Heroes bluray boxset the other day so will be watching them next week, with FMP:TSR arriving to complete the Full Metal Panic set as well.
Kind of far behind with SRW OG ep2 and Star Driver, and waaaaaaaay behind with Heroman.
Still acquiring the "Yuusha" series, which is a slow process considering there are 7 different series. Lots of watching ahead.

Naruto and One Piece I'm so far behind in that it doesn't matter. I skipped the last 80 or whatever filler episodes of naruto and I'm only 10ish episodes into shippuden. Even further behind in one piece, I think I've just cracked 70. They're both great series, but now I have the option of simply skipping any filler I come to because there will always be episodes further ahead.

You must be hundreds of episodes behind now.

Naruto's filler is less bad I think, the current history of the leaf episodes are actually kind of interesting. The main story in Shippuuden so far has been great, I can't wait for it to continue.

I'm looking to find a show that is similar to Chobits. Overly perverted but light amusing fluff.
I've googled a bit and Hand Maid May, Elfen Lied and DearS popped up but neither of the series look like they fit the bill.
Anyone have any recommendations? If there isn't anything that's a close match for Chobits I could watch that again as it's been 5-6 years since I've watched it.

Whatever you do, don't watch Elfen Lied expecting light hearted fluff.
DearS is pretty close in nature to it (much heavier on the fanservice) as is Hand Maid May.
More recently there's Sora no Otoshimono which I like (don't expect anything especially deep from it though).
You could also check out the wider "average guy gets inadvertently engaged to a girl" genre, with Ah My Goddess being the most famous example.

i thought the naruto episode a few weeks ago (195?) where naruto & sauke got stuck together was very good. still filler, but the animation and style of it seemed quite different to normal, i was really surprised.
the latest bleach was nice too, as i havent read the manga, so it was quite a cool twist i had no idea was coming. it seemed to return to the status quo very quickly. but it was still a great moment.
really they need to man up and just put them off air for a few months, and have proper seasons without filler.
i sometimes wonder what the next big thing will be. is there something i should be reading the manga of?

No power levels, no characters powering up from almost dying, minimal emo villains.
Other than that, there's Negima which is funny, has good action and has consistently decent art for a shonen (no 2 panels a page, white backgrounds)
top - Haki+Logia DF
Logia DF
Haki+Devil fruit
Haki or experienced DF users
DF
Mermen
Bottom - 'Normal' people
Fractal ep3 - so much for light hearted adventure and discovery, went abit Madoka on us.

There is a definate power structure in terms of how powerful people are but as of yet, people haven't been able to move between levels (with the exception of Blackbeard).
The worry is that Haki will introduce full on DBZ power levels but the war arc did suggest that Haki is more an independent power set that doesn't automatically supersede Logia users.
It's not just been shoehorned in as a method for Luffy to beat Logia users though (which kinda goes against the way this manga's been going so far). Haki was first hinted at in the Luffy x Smoker fight.
The manga's in the final third now and I imagine it'll start hinting at the big finale by the end of the year. Still a lot to cram in though, Dragon, Shanks and the leader of the marines have all yet to really flex their muscles in the story.
