    Regarding Rau and Flaga:

I thought Rau was a clone of Flaga's father? Being a failed attempt, thats why he had to sustain his life with the medication you occassionally saw him take during SEED.

    As for Neo:

I'm also with the theory that Neo has to be Flaga. If he was a clone, then the rate of growth would be too fast since it has only been 2 years since the end of SEED. Assuming Neo's in his late 20s, maybe pushing 30, he'd have been in his early teens only 1 year ago and in a year's time, he'd be in his early to mid 40s.

I may be a year or so late, but I've just seen Macross Zero, all in one go. Not sure about mixing animated stuff with CG, but the CG fights are excellent and the music is typical Macross standard.

Having just seen the end, you'll have to excuse me. I think I have something in my eye...

Aye, it rocks. The fights are drool-worthy. And the ending is sad indeed (poor Fokker... Talk about shattering a man's heart in a million pieces...).

The music, however, vas vastly inferior to Macross Plus. But then again, Plus had a soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. Short of John Williams, nothing else could come close.

On a semi-related topic, I saw Naruto 121 yesterday, and the trailer for ep 122 conjured a rather scary mental image... Shikamaru isn't actually going to do what I think he's going to do to beat Tayuya, is he?

hehe, good stuff Macross, specially Zero. If you like dogfighting(minus the Robots, just warplanes) have a look at Yukikaze, im still waiting for them to release the final ep5 ^^(we get an new ep every 3-5 months) .

---- now for the other shows

Anyone still watching Xenosaga??? I know the animation is quite crap but it strangely enjoyable and the story differs somewhat from the game so far with some characters being alive and others dead

Wild Striker, hits ep32. Not Whistle! good, but enoyable even if they can't animate the action on the pitch that well, but it always good to see Kanou pull something out of his ass to get the goal.

Mahou Sensei Negima, really starting to creep me out, maybe if the boy wasn't a 8 year old, i'd be fine but watching 16 year old school girls trying to hit on him

Ah! my Goddess, top stuff, makes me wish i hadn't missed the original OVA's with a laugh around every corner and the animation being so crisp and clear its a joy to watch.

Peach Girl, for girly program its really good, the bitching between the 2 girls and the 2 contrasting boys(one shy, one a predator)

And now on to my fav show at the moment (above Beck,Bleach,Genshiken)

Jinki:Extend - top, top stuff, while the fans of the manga('s) hate the show for it cutting large parts of the story out and messing up the timeline between 1988 and 1991 making hard it undertsand whats going on, but i couldn't careless, the action and fan service ROCK! as does the opening and ending music.

                  PHANTOM!!!!!!!!!!

Well, comparing the music in Zero to Plus is like comparing an apple to God, but I see what you mean.

                          ****ING OOOF

oh well, AonE will probably split away from ANBU again and carry on. Perhaps. It's a shame that we might miss out on the later battles in this arc

EDITEDIT: Also, what are ShoPro like in terms of Sub/Dub quality, and does anyone have information on their previous works?

                          EDITEDITEDIT: Hamtaro and Inuyasha eh

Untrue, Firsty, because Shodan > (Sharon) Apple and Shodan == Goddess.

Okay, following Tobal's advice I downloaded the first 5 eps of Jinki: Extend, and it's... I don't know, below average. Good animation and nice ED music. However, I don't have a f**king clue what's going on. I get the story with Aoba, but there's what seems to be an alternate timeline with some returning characters (albeit a bit changed -- I think I recognized Minami and Ryohei) and some that are completely different but look just the same as existing characters (that red-haired girl is basically Aoba with a different hair color -- which doesn't help much when the story is happening in black & white). Some people will call this a design choice, I call it extremely poor storytelling.

In addition to that, the story itself looks completely random. I mean, it's "hey, let's take a mix between Shinobu from Love Hina and Ohno from Genshiken and stick her in a giant robot to see if we remembered to include a bit of Kira from Gundam Seed into her design!" mixed with some fan service on frickin' pre-teens (!).

It is also very clich? and ripped off at times (two characters who meet, fall in love at first sight only to find out they are gonna have to fight against each other? I had never seen that before in an anime, no sir!), and tends to resort a bit too much to unexplained-but-scary name-calling (ooh, I sooooo wet my pants every time someone says "Kindred", even though I have no idea what it means in the context of this series! I'll be surprised if there isn't at least one character who is only referred to as "ano hito"/"that person", in italics if possible, for roughly half the series).

As for the mecha design, it's just ugly, and the combats (which I find very reminiscing of '70s "Super" giant robot anime, and I hate Super mecha), while well animated, lack any kind of grace whatsoever. Compared to Gundam or (worse) Macross, they look awfully clumsy and boring.

I'm gonna give it a couple more episodes to catch my attention, after that I'll be dropping it.

The problem with Jinki Extend is that there are actually two stories running parallel to each other in two different dimensions. The manga lays this out quite well from what I've read but the anime just comes across as confusing.
