Aren't pretty much all the Naruto movies essentially non-canon filler?

I've got to the massive filler in Naruto now. 100 episodes of plotlessness with zero character growth...

Still, the Sasuke vs Naruto fight was great.

The movies are pretty much filler, and certainly none manga cannon anyway. That stretch of pure filler after the Naruto/Sasuke fight is a killer and should be entirely skipped apart from the 2 small stories that actually had some cool moments for Hinata(like gaining a "total defense" similar ro neiji and gaara), shame Shippuuden manga totally ignored her until her recent foolishness, but then thats the same for all the characters recently since Pain's turned up nobody is on the level of Sasuke/Manda/Pain/Naruto anymore they've gone all Super seiyan on us making everyone else look useless.

I've given up on the Naruto anime, I stuck through the first set of filler episodes ages ago but I just can't be bothered now as theres too much other good stuff to watch. I'll pick it up again when they get back on track.

Just had a quick look at Guin Saga ep 3. The end pretty much covers the ending of the first novel although I don't remember anything about a 4th person being on the scene. Still in terms of adaptation it seems to be fine and they don't seem to be dragging things out unnecessarily. Episode 4 is my jump on point then! Hope it's good stuff.

Birdy s2 - ep11/12 - like the first season it finishes strong again, the final fights between the various aliens get proper brutal, plenty of eye gouging, knee cap smashing and arm ripping fun. Again it sacrifices detail for animation and speed but it's know where near as bad as birdy past when they used it alot, seems they saved most of the budget for ep12. Hope we get to see a 3rd season.

Caught up myself. Quite enjoying this series so far. Not too slow or fast with the pacing although I have nothing to compare. Faggot boy's annoying but he's not done much so he's bearable. The monkey girl looks to be bloody annoying as well though. Music is top notch though. Done by the Final Fantasy composer as well.


Also finished off Minami-ke Okaeri. Wouldn't say it was a complete return to the 1st series glory but it was certainly more funny than the 2nd. Could have used some more Hosaka and perhaps of that new girl in Haruka's school. Would like a 4th season though!

Edit: So what are people's prime choices for this season so far then?

edit 2: Also, **** yeah for Tentai Senshi Sunred's second season getting announced!

Summer days are here again and bringing with it some fairly good sounding series.
Spice and Wolf series 2 yeah! If they do the next 2 novels as good as the first series I will be a very very happy man.

Not really much on there, Spice'n'Wolf and SZS sequels are a must watch, which part from that only Tokyo Magnitude interests me in amongst what seems a like crap ton of high school shows.

Hmm... yeah. The list doesn't exactly excite me bar the obvious which have already been mentioned. Aoi hana seems like it has potential, though it could go either way with JC Staff involved.

Then again I seem to be saying that about every season before coming back with slightly more positive impressions after first viewings. I suppose Spice and Wolf and Zetsubou-sensei returning is reason enough to celebrate the coming of summer. Pretty decent return for a typical summer season I guess so I shouldn't be too critical about it at this stage.

Only must watch there for me is Umineko no naku koro ni, not quite sure how Deen can manage 3 series at once though.

May check out GA as I've a soft spot for AIC series.

Princess Love looks to be the seasons fanservice fest although there will be more of the (much improved over the TV series) ToLoveRu and Kiss x Sis to provide on that front.

Overall there's nothing amazingly exciting in that line up but it's still a month or so before it'll be fully fleshed out. The lack of Haruhi is surprising. Usually summer is the strongest time for anime so it's a bit odd there are no clear blockbusters.

I've never found that. I've always found the strongest lineups to be the Spring and Fall ones. That is if we're talking strictly those shows that debuted during that particular season and not those shows continuing onwards from previous ones. I tend to find the summer and winter lineups to be the filler between the main events.
