Try Gigantic Formula or a Macross series. Zegapain was okay too. Sousei no aquarion is another personal favourite but it's pretty marmite. I'm sure I'm forgetting something too
The best thing to do is to look at anidb or something similar and just search for shows with the mecha tag. Have a look at the synopses and take a punt one of them.

Been watching Code Geass after holding out for a while.
It's mildly entertaining but not really worth all the hype on 4chan. Bit of a mishmash of Death Note , Gundam Seed and Crest of the Stars. Rather unique in having an unlikable main character though.
There have been the occasional stupid bits so far though
the way Lelouch stole that prototype mech on the island and the fact that it seems just a bit too easy for Lelouch and co. to keep themselves, and their huge mecha hidden from Britannia
. I try to keep my brain turned off watching these things but I'm not entirely successful.
I've heard R2 is incredibly stupid but I'll probably watch it.

Hahaha omg, Gintama 56 - Otsuu in the Shinsengumi and Gin/Kaguran/Shin as the mascot, ah man my sides hurt I couldnt stop laughing.
Anyone else watching Chrome Shelled Regios or Souten Kouro? They both started off slow but i'm really enjoying them now and they are both instant watches as soon I get ahold of them.

The fun thing about Geass is no matter well planned or Flukey Lelouch plans are something bad always happy's to keep the story ticking, also Kallen/Karen and Super Suzaku.
Hatsukoi Limited ep6 - im still watching, just enough of that Ichigo100% charm in to make it worth watching, and that they seem to be actually sorting out relationships instead of stringing them out for episodes on end. So far the Princess*Kappa Face are my fav's and this is another episode devoted to them(woo)
BECK ch99-100, did anyone manage to get this when it was scanlated last december. I missed my chance and can't find it anywhere... soo close to the end to.
edit in!!
Im still watching and enjoying Regios, even if the best character in it(felli) is getting less airtime as the story heats up and as much as i want a Felli end, its going to the captain ain't it.
Souten Kouro is brilliant, not a fast subbed show but as i said before the mix of Rot3k and Fist of the North Star really makes it.Last edited by Tobal; 19-05-2009, 22:49.

Souten Koro is one of the series I have to watch whenever it's released along with Cross Game. Sou Sou's character is just so totally awesome. Fits really well with Light's VA.
Speaking of Cross Game, I became so desperate to see what happens next I started on the manga. Was loving it until I hit chapter 72 and then they introduced a plotline I hate. Maybe it'll be good! Need sleep now though.
Tobal, you're looking 99 and 100 of Beck? Blam. Hopefully that's what you're after. If not, there's always online reading of it with onemanga.

Euch so much facepalming with Code Geass R2 at the moment (seen the first 6 eps):
everything involving Rolo, the way Lelouche's Geass is completely unbreakable no matter how strong the will but the emperor's is easily broken, coming up with an incredibly complex plan with no preperation immediately and just happening to have the explosives after Zero's memory returns, Nunnally being made a governor (and not recognising Lelouch's voice)
so very dumb
I should probably just laugh at it really, despite the mellowdrama it's hard to take seriously. Kallen getting a boob job was amusing mind.

It makes a kinda of sense if you think of it as continuing the random airing order of the episodes rather than the chronological sequence but the sheer lack of publicity about it being the second series included just boggles the mind.
Speaking of facepalming, Cross Game has me doing a lot of that recently. It's a lot like Ippo; when it sticks to the main characters and the main theme it's very very good but when it starts playing about with character relationships, you get the urge to hurt someone to make it stop.

Caught up on a few shows,
Haruhi S2 - out of the blue, as you lot say which is strange for one of the biggest shows in recent years. Anyway while it was a good episode, it impact to me only makes sense from reading the books and this is so far only the place where the random episode order has worked against it. I can't fathom how anyone who hasn't read would be able to get the impact of Haruhi not going to North High and their first meeting
(if im remembering right the books have a powerless Nagato time rift thingy, where Kyon basically becomes the Slider before this episode happens).
Tears to Tiara ep2-6 - first episode put me off lot so it took me some time to get around to watching the rest, it certainly gets better and it very much in the mold of Utawarerumono. Not as good as the other fantasy sword'n'spells show Guin Saga but it a nice to see a couple of decent/good shows in this genre at last.
K-on,FMA,Ippo,VC and Hayate still going strong, hopefully more sub for Regios will keep coming often
Also downloaded the original Birdy OVA's, from the 1st 20 mins of ova1 its pretty much the same style of show(so plenty of gory violence when fights happen) with a similar story/characters but different events.

he gets put into the world where Haruhi doesn't go to North High that he realises it's because of her not meeting "John Smith" 3 years previously caused by crazy Nagato. I think.
