So I watched '5cm per second' this evening. Shinkai is godlike is he not?

His next film is out in Japan now. Have a trailer.

Looks good, still no western/UK Blu-ray release of 5cm per second, 3 years on. At least The Disappearance will be with us in July on BR, although i have 1080 rip i still want the disc.

Yeah, I ended up getting it on DVD because the Blu-Ray version just seemed to vanish off the schedules. It upscales nicely enough I guess. Will happily trade up for it in HD if they ever bother putting it out.

Just watched Evangelion 2.22 on blu-ray. 2nd time ive seen it and it still gives me chills. Anyone know when 3.0 hits Japan? I'm dying to see it it's been a long wait.

Mayo Chiki looks to be much more fanservicy than I was expecting. Reverse trap series almost always seem to be shoujo.

Finally got around to watching Eva 2.22. My word that thing is good, wasn't expecting too much after watching 1.11 and seeing that that was pretty much the same as the original series...

brought 1.11 and 2.22 myself, still not watched them yet asi can see remember what happened from the jp rips. I reckon a few more months and i'm memory of events should be hazey enough to rewatch them

Ano Hana ep11 - last episode, lots of crying from the super peace busters. They actually managed a decent ending i was quite happy with after things fell apart in ep10.

Wasn't quite happy with it when they started the forced drama of them admitting their guilt one after another of their selfish desires to see menma go and find peace, but it was made up by the finale with Menma difting away back to the afterlife and having a proper goodbye this time, and the ending was good to with the kids getting on with there lives and each other.

Nichijou continues to be great. The scene with Yuko wanting to show off some magic tricks made me laugh more than anything's made me laugh for a while.

The teacher arc in TWGOK S2 was nice, definately one of the better characters. Unexpected treat in a nice piece of Urashihara art at the end of the ep too, hope one of the art books has a clean version of it.

Just watch the last TWOGK ep for season2 and every time this girl turned towards the screen it cracked me up laughing. Pretty good second showing with the teaching assistant and normal girl being the highlights, edging out sporty girl from season 1. To bad Maria+Holic second season couldn't follow suit, it just alot less funny with Kanako getting bullied far to harshly to like any of the other characters this time round, often resulting in alot less screen time for her. The only laugh out loud moment for me so far been her "time chamber" study sesson and the haircuts when she got back.

And going back to Nichijou, ep13 goes to show it all about Yuuko and Mio, everyone else comes second, every failed magic trick was brilliant. Though i didn like it when Nano got the nod to go to school, hopefully this means less professor crapping up the place and a new intro/ending next episode!

I really hope TWGOK gets an S3. It'd be nice if it got a full 26 ep one too. From what I gather though, the DVD sales haven't been outstanding so it may not happen. I want the older sister and the doll girl arcs.

Agree with Maria Hollic. It was funnier and more enjoyable when it was about Kanako's fantasies and getting to know the girls.

Glad that two of the better series this season have gotten the 26ep treatment. It's becoming increasingly rare for non-action series to last that long.

Next season looks set to be full of fanservice fests but that series with the near mute main character could be fun.

Just watched the final TWGOK ep. Damn you for hinting at what girls will feature IF there's a third season.

Announce a third season and make it 26 eps damn you!

Nichijou 14: new op and ed, the op is just as barmy as the first one and the ed is isometric goodness. Nano getting so excited

                            going to school

was unbarably cute. The argument between Yuko and Mio was great, love how Kyoani keep randomly doing these well animated segments.

Denpa 12: Nice ending, even if it kinda resolves nothing in the plot. Hope for an S2.

Maria+Holic : Dropped at episode 9. I just don't understand how a series, with the same staff, with the same budget, based off of the same source material, could take such a nosedive. It's hard to explain what's wrong with it. Maybe it has less perving and fantasies from Kanako, maybe there's less focus on Kanako and her friends this time around. Not sure exactly but it's poor.

Summer anime mostly starts this week.

Not even going to watch the first ep of that loli basketball show.

The reverse trap maid show could be worth watching and there are a couple of slice of life shows I'll at least sample the first ep.

That samurai breast series sounds incredibly WTF-worthy from what I've heard about the source material so I'll give it a shot.

I liked Denpa all the way through, still a 13th ep to go onthe last dvd to go which will get released months down the line but i doubt we'll get anything on which girl he wants or any plot... i'd be happy if SHAFT just go the amagami way of an route for each girl(well just Cosplayer and Ryuuko).

                              new stuff.
Sacred Seven, had a decent opening episode. Misunderstood Delinquent with hidden power doesn't want to be bothered, gets dragged into fighting monsters over gems. Looks like the classic Scryed but set in set in school, the fighting was pretty interesting(Kamen Rider with Megaman powers looking like saint seiya cast off, and a bleach'esk hollow/rage/raw mode that looks alot like Ryuhou Alter from scyred) and well animated, though the gravity of alot people getting murdered and half the town getting smashed to bits seemed lost on them at the end... ah well.

The only NEET thing to do ep1 - Loserguy + loli neet and neet crew solve the problems the police can't be bothered with. As a bit of a Durarra vibe to it with many characters and it seemed alright with draw coming from them solving the cases.

First time posting in a long while. Good to see some familiar faces still around. I pretty much got jaded with anime and as a result I haven't watched some of the best shows in the last 2-3 years so lots to catch up on. That said I found myself with some time this week and sampled a few new shows from the summer season. I didn't read up on any of them beforehand.

Rokyubu - turned it off very quickly as it sort of exemplifies some of the main problems I have had with recent anime

Yuru yuri - I thought this was heading in the same direction as the above, what with the cute girls doing cute things schtick (not that I'm averse to that if it's done well) but it surprised me. The opening segment is spectacularly cliched but there's some nice surprises later on which call back to that. Some fun poking at anime conventions too particularly when they try to fix Akari. Kyouko reminds me of Miu from Ichigo Mashimaro too, which is a bonus. Not quite as evil yet. Pleasantly surprised.

Sacred Seven - reminded me of Code Geass and other assorted school-based action series. The action sequences were pretty tight. Has potential, I think, for some awesome GAR action. I just hope it doesn't take itself too seriously. Quite fun.

Kamisama dolls - bit of a schizophrenic first episode. It's very lighthearted one second and then bam gets alot darker. The lighter moments almost feel out of place at times. I think I'm going to like that Aki guy. Seems like he was trolling the main lead for a reaction. Could be an interesting dynamic. Oh and the main girl has huge norks. Hopefully doesn't devolve too much into fanservice territory. This would seem to me to benefit from playing it more straight, I was liking the darker edge to proceedings after a certain point in that first episode.

Will be interesting to see how insane the village is
