I knew about them cutting stuff as i seen plenty of fans of the game are moaning about Mei getting next to nothing other than a cameo(among other things), but i guess that's what comes when you heavy hitters like haruhi S2 and FMP4 to spin money... almost makes me wish they had decided on 2 seasons, fill out the 1st and animate the 2nd after they get done the other big series.

Anyone actually playing the game? i seen loads of screen shots of a fully fan translated patch around for the game and i been mulling over buying it or finding a torrent.

Well even in the best cases they'd have to cut stuff from the show. Although if they had more episodes to play around with I guess they could have included more I suppose.

For my money I don't think they're trying to be quite as haremy with this adaptation as Shuffle. And personally I have to say thank god, because the more I think about Shuffle the more disappointed I get. It did stuff right with keeping viewers guessing but when I look back on it, that made the majority of the characters seem like total *****/idiots and the writing for some of the stuff wasn't much better. In saying that Canvas 2 which I preferred for the most part didn't exactly end in a good way either. I don't even want to go any futher . Personally the further Clannad stays away from the Shuffle/Canvas 2 formula the better. Even if it means who he ends up with is predictable. Unless the writing is poor for the end I don't really see how it'll make me hate the show either. No ridiculous wtf endings like Canvas 2 and no ridiculous drama setups and genereal writer laziness like Shuffle, please.

I suppose they could have made it more interesting by not showing us how much he thinks of Nagisa, but I'm not really watching it to see who "wins". I guess it shows how much he cares about her so I can understand how nothing the other girls do makes no difference. Then again I can see how that my be frustrating for the fans of those girls (who am I kidding? I guess I'm just happy it's Nagisa so far Please don't hurt me.) For the time being I'm just going to enjoy the journey and hope they don't **** things up from here. It has been far better than any other show like it that I can remember I just hope it doesn't plumb the depths of others in its genre. I suppose they could just animate each girl's storyline separately with 12 episodes or so for each. So that they don't have to miss things out. Then the fans can watch which ever version they want.

As for the translation, it's still in progress but they've got a fair bit of it done now. It's been going for a year or more now. Links here and here.

From what it says on the site there will be a fully voiced version of the game coming soon and they are going to make a tl patch for that and the bog standard version of the game. I think I already have the game downloaded somewhere and the voice patch for it. Just need the translation now. It should be out there and fairly easily findable on tosho I'd imagine. If there are any problems getting it, then just PM me and I'll see about sending it out on a disk or something. There might be another translation being worked on but as far as I am aware the above are the only group working on it at the moment. It's just a case of waiting it out for them to complete the tl now.

edit: I think the only thing I'm missing is Tomoyo After. I'll see if I can find it.

I would amitt Clannad girl line up and story arcs are all above average compared to Shuffle! 2/3 great girls(Asa,Kaede,Mayumi) and idiots(all the gods/demons) but for me both so far have been equal on the laughs, emotion and stupid drama(even if it is well pulled off, its involves ghost girls!!). Clannad not really H-game to begin with but i still would have liked them to at least try and give a level playing field for 1st half of the show

Aria O ep4 - brilliant stuff, one of the best eps they've done with the new undine girls seeming like they could have had there own show, let alone being side story stuff to finally show of how far Akari come as a undine. Hope we see them again.

I didn't mean stupid drama in that sense i.e. it's stupid because it's supernatural/fantasy stuff. I'm fine with that sort of stuff. More in the sense of what they had the characters do to make the drama in the first place i.e. more in the sense of how it was written and executed. The main one that always comes to mind is the bit with Asa near the end of the series, which I've probably mentioned loads of times in this thread already so I'm not going to bang on about it.

As for the other stuff, well I think the laughs have been better in Clannad but I will give Shuffle the emotional aspect. I don't think there's anything I've seen so far that has had quite the impact as some of Kaede's stuff in Shuffle (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about). Though that could be down to the fact that I hadn't quite experienced anything like it at the time. Also I think the characters are better in Clannad, particularly the main male lead. IMO Tomoya kicks Rin's arse in almost every department.

Anyway I see where you're coming from but I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The thing with Shuffle and Clannad is that they're both slightly different from each other. Shuffle had Rin as basically the target of each and every one of the female characters in there and he knew it. So we were treated to lots of umming and ahhing about which one he should finally pluck up the balls to actually date.

Clannad's less about the "Tomoya gets a girl" aspect and more about how he encounters these 5 girls and the events that enshroud each of them. The only thing I'm worried about is that it's reaching the point of him getting one of the last 3 possibly and it just seems there's not enough air-time left for them to do it and make it believable.

Err, I forgot the point I was trying to argue.

Anyway on my usual perusal of some sites I noticed that the Utawarerumono game had received a translation patch as well. Time to see if I can grab that and Tomoyo After

After solving my "raw episode 6" problem, I resumed watching Gurren-Lagann and am now just through episode 9. I see what you guys meant about this show being unpredictable -- I certainly didn't expect episode 8 to change the tone of the series from "light-hearted action comedy with super robots" to "this is where main characters start dying".

So far so good.

subs for the first ep of Mnemosyne, have finally appeared \o/, just watched it and it was great, plenty of nice bloody action, with some hints of mystery and a slight drop of head****, if youve seen the trailer you should know what to expect, its essentially the trailer expanded to about 20/30mins, with the rest of the 45mins going to the investigation type parts in between the action

Mnemosyne: It's certainly less head-**** than I remember the promo being but it's was quite good. Nice quick paced action and some quite bloody scenes. Story's not shaping up to be too shabby either.

d gray man catch up is complete. all up to date now, and glad i did it.

it was pretty good at the beginning, i seem to remember there was another demon hunter type show started at the same time. cant remember what it was now, but with my limited bandwith i decided to opt for this instead. then it just seemed to get stuck in filler mode for such a long time, always telling you about the bigger story with the earl/noahs/heart etc. but never really doing anything about it.

seems like i stopped at just the time when they actually started to get on with it again. from 50 to present there's just tons of good stuff happening.

definitely going to keep up with it now.

Yep I've just watched all the episodes too, was going to give up on it but it turned out pretty good 50 onwards, now I'm all out of episodes and gutted I like how they keep doing stuff to Allen which you just don't see coming makes for good viewing when you know they're about to make a massive come back.

True tears ep6 - zero your right about the shin's mum being a total bitch but i can now understand why..

i had kinder guessed something like this would happen from the photo in ep4 but have 2x siscon in the same show would seem a little overkill so i was gonna go with the whole 'her mum was rival in love or seomthing'. And mannnn i really felt and for Shin's mate getting dumped like that, the look on his face

As for Grayman you should catch up onthe manga as i'd wager once this fight in china done with and they're all in japan we're gonna get filler'o'rama as it'll only be 50 chapters behind (last ep was about chapter 85-90, with the last chapter being 147) as it'll be about the only time they can apply some breathing room which i can see bleach having a massive problem with as there seriously stretching what little story there is(as it's all fights) with lots of running down corridoors and panning sceney . Anyway its worth catching as there fair few HOLY **** moments, and the newest from ch146/147 is one of the biggest and dammmm is it evil and uber creepy.

Claymore cp76-77 - caught up with whats out and boy does they mangka really know his fans ,

building up the big moment for the new'class'47 to kick some ass and have northern warriors turn up in the main story again(and about time)

Gunslinger girl S2 ep4 - animation and art get worse, angie's personality picks up a hardon for weapons from nowhere.

Tam noble masters ep5 - always feel dirty watching this show but it dam fun to watch.

I'm about halfway through Kino's Journey right now after having Orca tell me how awesome it is as well as seeing Tobal say he enjoyed it. Amazing stuff this. It reminds me a lot of Mushishi as being one of those series that's so slow paced and placcid to watch but gripping you enough that you don't feel any urge to skip. A gem.

I wasn't surprised by the revelation because it's been hinted at for a while, which is good.

. Seems to get better with every passing episode. Please keep this up till the end!

h20 ep 6 - well that was better. There's more explanation regarding the hate for Hayami and it makes it kind of understandable but I'm still left with the feeling everyone went too far with it which doesn't make it any less ridiculous unfortunately. They could have done with explaining this a bit earlier as well. Like maybe cutting out the beach episode and having this instead.

Also otoha saying his time is running out and Hirose being puzzled at what she meant. Maybe she really did alter everyone's memories... although with this show I wouldn't count on that.
