anyway its been 4 weeks now and the communication is pretty poor!.

i'm about to file a claim with paypal against him and my question is how long will it take to rufund me if possible?
paypal will send him an email requesting tracking info, and if he doesnt provide it within a week (iirc) they will refund you.
but if he provides tracking, then i doubt youll get a refund.

      its 45days:

      PayPal Buyer Protection
?500.00 GBP purchase protection at no additional cost.

      PayPal Buyer Protection covers:

      * An eBay item that you paid for but never received
      * An eBay item that is significantly different than what was described in the listing

      Guidelines:

      * You must send payment to the PayPal account associated with the eBay listing
      * You purchased a tangible item
      * Your claim must be filed within 45 days of payment
      * You may only file one claim per PayPal payment
      * You are limited to three PayPal Buyer Protection refunds per calendar year
and if that doesnt work, you can also file a claim with ebay here

          thats brilliant then!

i've just emailed him asking what shipping method was used, is it trackable and is insurance included.

so i'll be ready to file a claim the second i get contact from him if he has no information or responce within 5 days.

          thanks again!

just checked about how long until you can get a refund but it doesnt clarify it.

it states that seller has 10 days to respond to claim, but doesnt state what happens after 10 days.

            bit of a downer:
It may take several weeks to gather the facts of the case and come to a conclusion.

              Apparently legit!!!

Bit of a mug to sell EVERYTHING though. If I won I'd go round with a removal company and make him give me all of it.

                  Ebay Scum

Just received a 'good condition' Zelda 3 guide from a guy in the states.

It was piss poor-looked like the second half of the book had been dipped in a bath. Very annoyiing. The thing is, I don't want to send it back as it is so rare.
B*****. I was looking at his other auctions-Chron Trigger for $149.99-perfect condition etc.

                  Not so sure now.

anybody else had this stuff happen?

                  Comment

Yeah, most of the times a yank seller states "mint" or "like new" it's actually crap like hell. That's why I only buy new & sealed stuff from them, unless they have VERY detailed pics stated in the auction.

Jappies on the other hand actually do deliver what they promise.

if the item is not as it was described you can launch a complaint with ebay:

Agreed. US collectors don't often seem too fussed about conditions. I know a few with complete collections for whichever console, but with 50% cart only stuff. Crazy imo.

                          Zelda

He has offered a refund and we could argue all day what denotes 'good condition'.

Such a shame. I have promised myself some goodies IF I get this new job I am after-will post a couple of wants on here. at least you know what you will get.

The more I use Ebay, the more it depresses me. All he had to say was 'very average' quality or something, I would probably still baught it tbh.

                            Ebay pirates

I just bought RebelStar:Tactical Command for the GBA and guess what? It's a pirate copy....

Ok, ok, so I maybe should have known better, but the guy's got very good feedback and the price of the product is in line with the US dollar price of $20, (I paid 12 quid inc. UK postage) so I thought it would be legit. The description said it's new and sealed. The picture looked fine.

Anyway, I asked the guy for a refund as I don't want a pirate copy (especially as DVDBoxOffice will get it to me for 13 quid). If this fails, what should I do next? Will Ebay/Paypal refund my money, or should I get the credit card company involved (will they refund my money and pursue paypal?)

Any ideas, comments, derisory or otherwise?

inform ebay i would and if you dont get your money back then get your credit card company involved

If it's a pirate, you can go through eBay to hopefully get your money back. But they make so much from pirates' listing fees I don't think they'll ever really decide to crack down on removing them.

When it comes to GBA games now, I hardly ever use eBay, I tend to use Amazon (com or co.uk), VG+ or Play.
