Watch out that he doesn't give negative feedback. Happened to me once in exactly the same position. I had to abandon the account

Did you only spot it was a pirate within the last 12 hours? You could have withdrawn your bid of course...

i only thought of it just before the auction ended as i looked at the picture and just had a feeling that something wasn't right and went to retract the bid and couldn't.

i've withdrawn other bids for things i've bid on and just cba with ebay now. as i've looked and theres loads of dodgy stuff on there

my account will probably be banned so

Where do I stand here? Listed a game, and specified my shipping costs on the item description. Bloke in France wins the game. I have specified that my standard international shipping rate is ?6.00 to anywhere in the world. I invoice him for the final auction price plus the six pounds. He sends me this:

Hello. I would like you to reduce the shipping fee, I think that 6
pounds for a playstation game is much too expensive, I live in
France, so I don't think the cost is so high for such a light
              product.
I don't mind if the shipping time is one week or more. Thank you in
              advance.

Would I be justified in replying to him as such:

That is tough I am afraid. I specified the shipping cost on the item description, and have now sent you an invoice. If you had a problem with the cost of shipping, then you should have contacted me before the auction ended or before you made a bid. It is not my problem if you think it is too expensive - I have specified an amount and rules are rules. I would therefore appreciate it if you can pay me the amount on the invoice, otherwise I will report you to ebay and leave negative feedback as a non paying bidder.

Also, where do I stand if this tool tries to leave me negative feedback? As far as I can see, apart from my postage costs being a bit higher than what he was expecting, I have done **** all wrong!

?5-6 is about right for the signed-for service...

You could tell him ?3 for standard airmail, and be sure to let him know that if it goes missing/gets stolen/whatever, it's tough ****.

I feel like standing my ground here though - as he has left it until after the auction to bother querying it, plus he is French (waits for mods to ban me)

As far as I know, there's nothing to stop him leaving negative feedback, and ebay won't remove it. Probably not what you want to hear...

It doesn't sound like he's threatening you with neg feedback or demanding it be reduced, simply asking if there is a cheaper way that you could send it. So give him the options and it's his problem if it gets lost in the post.

Nah that won't work mate. I sold something on another website - specified recorded delivery - buyer said 2nd class would be fine - paid paypal - items sent and apparently have not arrived. Buyer put claim into paypal - they have had there claim upheld meaning I've lost dvd's and money.

Only send recorded. I will be from now on.

yes, recorded is always the best and safest way, especially is using paypal for payment, as they ask you to provide tracking info.

@seany Well the thing is you can barter before the end of an auction but after the fact is just not on, he has to accept it.

and about that secret of mana, were the wrappers on game like they are now, i.e cigarette style with a name round the opening strip?
