I've just won a CD on Ebay for ?2.50 and the postage is ?2 which equals ?4.50, right?

Well the seller has just sent me the invoice and stuck an extra ?4.50 as part of the sellers fee. Why do they do this? It does my bleeding nut in.

I had a similar thing a couple of months back and i refused to pay (it's still a ongoing dispute).

Can sellers do this without mentioning anything in their listing? I sell lots of stuff on ebay and would never think of charging any extras as it just alienates people from using ebay and generally pisses everyone off.

Normally they 'hide' their fees under insurance....if it's not displayed on their listing then I personally wouldn't pay it.

What kind of fee is ?4.50? Report him to ebay, and say that he is trying to pass on the listing & paypal fees onto you, which are against the rules.

Or just email him and tell him that you refuse to pay it and will report him.

Annoying thing about ebay. By all rights you should be able to tell them where to go but they've always got the option of leaving a negative feedback out of spite.

I won some jeans on eBay. in the lsiting it said if paying by PayPal please add an extra #1 to cover postage. When the auction was over I just pretended to act confussed and asked why and he dropped it.
