How fast is a modern F1 car? Well take a look.

I have finished The LEGO project. Here are some pics from my Flickr page for those interested. You can click through for the originals. I decided against adding the sponsors stickers and just opted for the prancing horse on the nose.

        Love how

Alonso just blasts past the road and touring cars the end at almost 200 MPH when they're all trying to recover from taking the corner

I know. Its like when some car nut claims that the Bugatti Veyron is 'faster' than an F1 car. Yes, on a 20km, straight test track at top whack but it would get murdered in any other situation.

Modern F1 is shockingly quick. A Spyker or Super Aguri today is probably as fast or even faster than a championship winning Ferrari from their golden era, such is the rate of progress.

I thought it was pretty dubious how the road cars got in line at the end, wouldn't want the cheaper model beating the more expensive one now.

In terms of the F1 car beating the pack it was definitely a fair race (even though they had to have a pit stop to make it so that the F1 car only just won ) , but I agree about the other three 'coincidentally' lining up in order of how expensive they were.!

Definitely. I liked how the Top Gear speed test made a point of it just being in a straight line. Although doubtless due to Jeremy Clarkson's dislike of motorbikes, they didn't mention that a non-speed-limited Hayabusa could probably catch up to it...

Ferrari have said this morning that they are not going to appeal against the McLaren "not guilty" ruling.

Speed axed to make way for Vettel

Seriously unsurprising news there. Shame there seems to be more to it than the fact that Speed wasn't very good.

This is a disgrace, Nelson should be allowed to drive as fast as he likes. After all who is better qualified.

Heard about this on the radio.

The instructor is going to feel like a complete idiot, "I know you're a three times F1 champion Nelson, but I'm just going to take you through some of the basics of driving"

Torro rosso should bring on that bordais? driver as well.

That would be a good step forward for that team in 2008

having him and vettel. All they need to do is get them the right car.

Seems the Ferrari/McLaren saga will rumble on, FIA has passed it onto the courts to sort out basically - details on BBC website.

Does make sense to investigate it fully as something very dodgy obviously happened. Shame in a way that it will rumble on though.

Melandri has a broken ankle. Got it in the quali crash at Laguna Seca, what a tough bastard racing and finishing 3rd with that injury!

I missed the news also that he's been confirmed to race at Ducati with Stoner next year, I'm a fan of his so am happy with that.

Can anyone tell me what programme do i have to watch and at what time to see the WRC rally and MotoGP? (not sure if the seasons have finished?)

I can allways find F1 on itv3, but as for the others, i can't.
