I agree with you so much sharky.

More on-the-track action please, less politics!

Although I do feel they have got off lightly - I have never liked Hamilton as a 'character', but I really hope he gets back to what he does best, and that is providing exciting racing, which is after all why we all watch this sport

I thought it was pretty exciting when he got nailed by Button last weekend! More of that please....

Anyone think it's odd that FIA based the value of the cap in sterling? We are so used to everything being quoted in dollars or euros these day. Like little piece of the British empire still exists, even though it's in Paris. LOL

The majority of F1 teams are UK based and I believe that FOTA is as well.

A bit out of date but still funny:

THE Brawn racing team completed a Cinderella story yesterday after clinching the opening grand prix of the season with nothing more than millions and millions of pounds.

Good Ayrton Senna article on BBC Sport along with the 1995 1 hour "Senna" Documentary and video highlights to watch.

Can't believe it 15 years now...

Larger versions of the videos can be watched here and here.

In keeping with the Ayrton Senna talk, below is a link to an article on Ayrton's death by Simon Barnes of The Times. Probably one of the best articles I have read on the man.

The latest breaking UK, US, world, business and sport news from The Times and The Sunday Times. Go beyond today's headlines with in-depth analysis and comment.

Will take a read of that later ta.

Good Moto GP race yesterday, Rossi was unstoppable, Dovi did well to get back in to some decent points after his excursion.

And a great 125 race, Bradley Smith really cleared off and showed them how it was done.

that's an excellent read ! My girl asked me not so long ago what I find so special about Senna, this artical is about perfect to explain what is so special about the man, he had to speed and the charisma, the only other drivers that will be remembered through all time will be Schumacher and Fangio... it's just Schumacher never had the charisma Senna had...
For example, Prost was great, 4time world champion, but I think that all will agree that it was Senna that was clearly the more gifted, pure racer at the time

This speaks for itselves as well :

this will never bore to watch, car almost out of control, manual gear shifting and right on the very limit...

some 9 years ago I bought a book about Senna, a dutch writer wrote it, called the "right foot of god" , I have no idea if it's also published in English writing, but it's a great read, I've read it several times and every time it gets to me. If it's in Englisch I can really recommend it to ya

I never tire of watching that Senna clip. I have both that one and the Monaco clip on my desktop, and whenever I feel down or slightly cynical about motorsport (which has happened recently) I fire those up and you remember why you are so gripped by the sport. The control into the last chicane after 130R is just phenomenal (one handed).

I think if you ever wanted to explan to someone the aura that Ayrton had, you wouldn't be going far wrong by showing them the BBC documentary which Talizker posted the link to (which is superb by the way), in addition to the Suzuka clip and then that article.

Senna is considered better than Prost because he's dead. In reality, in my opinion they were equal. Prost was almost unbeatable with the right set up. Okay so AS was better in the rain, but AP was known as the professor for a reason.

Prost was a great driver for sure, Prost was I think better with the politics in the F1, smarter, more calculated when it came to scoring points at the right time and so being world champion at the end of the season.. but when it comes to pure speed and car handling it has to be Senna.. IMO with Senna it always looked like he was always going for it flat out, with Prost it was always more calculated.. both great drivers, but personally I like Senna's way better..
