I can't believe it's only 9 days until the new F1 season begins. Time goes so fast.

Can't wait to see the first race now, my weekends will have a purpose again.

Why does the Mercedes team not have a country listed? Weird...

I think the problem people have with McClarens rear wing is that the air box is set up to actually vent through the rear wing and out a hole in the back of it.

It looks like its stopping short of actually taking the airbox air and running it over the wing directly, but its going to majorly hose the car behind with some serious air turbulence...

That's what I was worried about too. Apparently the double diffusers are a major cause of the turbulent air that the 2009 regulations were trying to eradicate. If this is deemed legal then it's going to be even harder for cars to follow closely.

Seems crazy. If they are ready to race as they claim then why not have another team and more cars on the track?

As the FIA have just been burned by USF1 failing to get to the grid and Campos almost collapsing they're probably a little wary about just accepting new teams without going through the proper selection process and inspections.

Hopefully the BBC still let you watch the 2 practices on Friday, which means only 4 days until we get to see some F1 action.

I was pondering the new season for the fantasy league yesterday and was wondering if Ferrari would keep their clown shoes from the last two seasons. I tried to find out who Alonso's race engineer was but couldn't find the info. Dyer seems to have moved to a new position and there were rumours that Alonso could be bringing people along with him. Strange.

Are the cars going to be more even this time, no surprise enhancements that give then half a second a lap advantage?

We won't know that until Thursday and first practice. No way have the teams shown their complete hands yet.

There has been talk of super diffusers from a few teams. If some do have them then it won't be as crazy as last year. Just the normal level of catch up.

There will certainly be a sizeable gap between the old teams and the new ones. Also with no refuelling drivers/teams will run more varied strategies.

I'm so hyped for this as well. I've got Friday booked off work, and will be sitting down to watch both practice sessions live on the BBC Red Button.

Seems like Sauber have a little advantage with the car being much easier on the tyres than any of the other big teams. Link
