C4 actually gets a small percentage of the licence fee.

And yeah, you have to have a licence even if all you're ever going to do is watch ITV on it. You pay the licence on equipment that *can* receive BBC channels, doesn't matter if you never watch them.

Finance-wise F1 is not in decline but we are talking on public entertainment terms, hence we see stuff like tyres that last five minutes and DRS, plus Bernie wanting to turn F1 into Mario Kart with various things. The finance of the sport is pretty appalling too, teams like Ferrari are kept well funded and in business by F1 while others go hungry or struggle for sponsors.

It's no wonder Williams are desperate for Sky because their sponsorship has rapidly declined in line with their lack of success so Sky's TV money will more than make up that loss in revenue.

No mention on the program today of this move, I was hoping they'd tackle it straight on as it's such a big talking point but never mind. Brundle did ask DC which drivers would be ahead of them in the queue to the Job Centre next year though.

Nice quali today, so close up front. I think Lewis blew his final run but showed great speed on the slower tyre.

There were a few subtle digs at it. Brundle talking about the dole queue as you say, but also Coulthard namedropping Autosport magazine (which on the BBC he shouldn't be doing) and Jake's closing statement.

I was expecting them to do something post qually so they didn't sour the show. Guess they are waiting till tomorrow so they aren't repeating themselves.

Waiting on official conformation from the beeb but Allen is usually well informed.

Why did they say they'd be in the dole queue then? Also indicates the highlights will not be a re-run of the full race either since 75 mins is not enough.

And it'll be 75 minutes but between 5 and 6???

It will be interesting to see if Eccelstone shows up tomorrow and either Brundle or Eddie Jordan talk to him. Even with the strongest will, they are bound to get the digs in. If I was Bernie I would lie low this weekend!

Brundle is joking about the dole queue cause he doesn't actually have a contract for next season at the moment.

We are all forced to pay the Licence fee for just owing a TV , never mind if you watch/use any of the BBC content at all (even in the digital age you have no option to op out) . We don't pay ITV and so even with out no Licence fee , ITV would be totally uninfected. In fact it would be able to complete more fairly then

Actually bother to read up on the license fee before you slag it off. You are fundamentally wrong.

Rain in Hungary for the start, track looks pretty slippy.

No Brundle on the grid, guess the commentary box is too far away.

Quality dig at the Sky thing there from Webber when Ted asked him what he was talking to Bernie about just then...

Yep, he tweeted last night that there wouldn't be a grid walk due to distance.

Hehe, Brundle starts with 'Sky is closing in'. I wonder how many subtle digs they're going to try and get in this afternoon.

And now we have an exploding Renault. God this sport is so dull, no wonder it's in decline!
