      Expected more from him tbh. No great loss.

          True, started well and then was just fat.

              I'm disappointed I like his style and 'screw them all' attitude. Fells like a step backwards to me but whatever he wants to do I guess.

              Think it was more his only decent option than 'the right time' or whatever he said.

                Only sad thing about this news is it means we won't see Connie around the pit lane any more... /sigh

                Actually no - too harsh. Montoya was good for a laugh, one less personality in the sport ; ;

                  yep nice style, but would any race team want to pay someone millions of pounds a year to do that ? not exactly set the world alight has he.
                  Unfortunately can't see him doing that well in Nascar either.

                    True, it's a shame though as he certainly has/had the potential but never delivered consistently.

                            I am no fan of JPM, but I wish him well in his new career. It says something about the state of F1 when a driver decides to leave not retire. Sure, he wasn't in line for a top drive and could've moved to a midfield team, but instead decided to go to NASCAR.

                              OH MY

                              Thought he would of at least seen out the season. Must be some more politics going on there I think.

                                That is a surprise yes, he must have really upset someone at McLaren, in the Sun today he slates F1 as boring, tough life, he is taking a 50% pay cut moving to Nascar, alledgedly down to a measly ?6 million a year.

                                Great opportunity for De La Rosa to shine.
