Unless it rains it will be a case of damage limitation for Nando. He has to get ahead of Massa as 2nd in the remaining races will be enough to secure the WDC.

Fuel strategy is critical as the last thing Renault want is to get bogged down in the pack or have an off at the first corner, on the assumption that Ferrari will take P1 and 2.

    Fingers crossed here.

Cracking qualifying session. 0.002 in it at the front. Be interesting to see what strategies each team are using tomorrow.

There are a few people about who can really make a difference to both championships.

I thought BMW-Sauber did particularly well.

Of course when the M runners perform well that hurts Ferrari more as Mclaren, BMW and Honda can dish out more damage and take points away from MS, which is something that cannot be said of the weedy BS teams in regards to their efforts against Renault.

Bloody hell, nice work Kimi! Nice to see the smile wiped of the Italian fans faces, as far as F1 fans go they're bottom of the pile in my book. I also hate the overly biased TV direction you get when in Italy, I don't think I saw a single shot of Button crossing the line. It's all Ferrari, Ferrari, Ferrari...well guess what chumps? The whole ****ing planet is watching and we're not all tugging ourselves over Ferrari!

Alonso has been put back to 10th on the grid for blocking Massa during qualifying. Details here.

Loved the hilarious interview with Ron Deenis after the qualifying. I can't believe Steve Ryder said to him, "So Kimi will be at Ferrari next season then" or words to that effect.

Great qualifying session for Kimi but I believe it'll be down to low fuel. I expect the Ferrari's to get past at some point.

Lets hope that FA pulls off a blinder tomorrow and makes it onto the podium. Utter ****e as he was just trying to get to the control line before the clock stopped!

Did FA really impede Massa? If he did I am the fooking pope.

                http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?...q=alonso+monza

As I understand it, a driver on an outlap has to yield to a driver on a hot, but it was obvious that FA was not playing games and was just trying to get to the line so really it's poor sportsmanship on Ferrari's part. I know that this is F1 but it seems that Ferrari will do anything to ruin Fernando's championship. Mass Dampers and now this. If Renault lose this year I think they will quite rightly feel victimised.

I'm not Alonso's biggest fan but yes it was a harsh penalty, he's lucky he set so many good times, losing your fastest three could have put him alot further down the grid. Should be a fantastic start.

Kimi - if your reading this, remember who's paying your wages next year

I reckon a Schumacher victory and Alonso to end up about fourth. Is Monza normally a two stopper ? can't remember.

I think that on paper one stop is fastest, which is what I suspect the Renaults are doing (either that or a very long first stint). Their grid positions will probably not enable them to maximise that strategy though.

                        Yup. Moto GP was excellent.

Just one comment for now - couldn't believe that

Pedrosa was put in a wheelchair and taken straight back to hospital immediately after the race

                        !

That was a bitter pill for Fernando considering his stellar drive from the back to third. Maybe it's just not meant to be this year which is a pity as his individual performances have been outstanding but he has been let down by too much political medlling.

Renault really have to go for it now as they have to beat Schu to take the WDC. On the subject of the great one, I think it's fair to say that I will miss him, as long as he doesn't take the 2006 crown with him.
