I'm not keen either. The changes made at Donnington over the next 2 years will be massive though, imagine all the tarmac run off's they are going to have to lay now!
At least Suzuka is back next year. My dodgy memory seems to tell me they are doing a year on year off rotation with Fuji though I'm not 100% sure on that.

Suzuka is on rotation with Fuji Speedway. As Alastair says, there would be no way Bernie would sign unless the venue is going to go under the knife to bring it up to GP standards. A 10 year deal is long though. Who else gets the feeling that Eccelstone is having a petty dig considering the announcement just happens to be on the British GP weekend. Nasty little prick.

Silverstone will probably fall to pieces now as why bother to invest if the 'Grand Prize' of Motorsport has gone to a rival circuit and for 10 fooking years, too. Why they didn't do a rotation, Suzuka/Fuji style is beyond me.
The trouble with Bernie is that for him its just $$$. He doesn't care about history at all. It's beyond comprehension that the the home of motorpsort, not just F1, Great Britain should be without a GP. The mere fact that he has hinted and threatened is enough to
prove that. We should be extremely proud of the fact that our country leads the world in motorsport and specialist sports car production, considering how much our car industry has crumbled in recent decades. The Govt should recognise that too. Literally, the world comes to the country for motorsport expertise, it provides billions in tax revenue yet it's treated like a minority sport, akin to hockey or snooker or something.
The one ray of hope is that maybe the money will not materialise for Donington's redevelopment. Its a promise after all and if it fails (who knows) then Silverstone will be back on track. Its rightful place :-: :-: :-:Last edited by Richard.John; 05-07-2008, 00:49.
