I hope Hamilton does take it personally. I've always been a McLaren supporter and would love for them to once again have a number 1 & 2 on the front of their cars.

Massa win the the GP, hamiliton on the podium and Raikkonen on fire burried into a tire wall somewhere please.

My god those qualifying laps were SO close at times. In fact probably the closest they'll ever get, now that the rules are completely changing next season - let's hope it's not like 1998 (the last time the rules changed by so much) and the field are seconds apart.

Massa put in a stunning lap yet again, he really has shown Raikkonen the way home this season. No doubt in my mind that unless it rains tomorrow, Massa will win, it's just all about where Hamilton finishes.

Good things after tomorrow: no more ad breaks during the race, and no more James 'Lewis is Senna reincarnated' Allen.

Bad things: 5 months without top line motorsport

You seriously think that BBC won't be just as bad?

Even worse as no ad breaks to dilute the Hami love fest.

Fact is, the reason BBC was interested in getting F1 back was because a British driver was back on top. In the interests of the majority of viewers, their footage will be heavily Hamilton biased because that's what the average viewer wants to see. Personally I don't mind, i'd much rather it was a British arrogant aggressive driver on top than Schumacher and he's far more interesting than the personality black hole that is Raikkonen.

Any self respecting fan will be over joyed F1 is back on a channel with no add breaks.

Anyway, as for the qualifying, I think Massa is light, he almost let it out the bag at then of the top three interview.

Hamilton should be fine as long as he doesn't have brain fade at some point on the first lap.

Didn't know that, might get back into F1.

Used to be a big fan since the 9pm highlights on BBC2 days. Stopped watching F1 when ITV made the monumental cock-up with Damon overtaking Schumacher.

I hope LH takes it, but so long as there is no FIA funny business I don't particularly mind who wins.

Course I say that now, later tonight I may be pissed off

I'm pretty sure the FIA pitched it back at the BBC, because ITV doesn't have the global reach that the BBC has.

Also the footage can't be Hamilton biased as every TV channel gets the same feed controlled by an FIA director. The days of using a local director went out years ago when people complained we used to see nothing but Ferrari's at the Italian GP, etc.

Worth mentioning, the Japanese leg of the WRC is on Dave at 4PM too.

The coverage can easily still be very Hamilton biased, pre and post race and the commentators could be just as bad as ITV. Maybe FIA did approach the BBC but if it wasn't that there was a British driver back at the top then they wouldn't have picked up the rights. Personally I don't mind. No adverts would be great but I do have some concerns that the BBC coverage might be a bit too lightweight and back to basics after the razzmatazz of ITV which I generally enjoy.

Oh yeah the coverage can, but you said footage, just assumed you were talking about race footage.

Has there been any mention of the presenters on BBC? I know a lot of the original BBC staff moved across with the rights (heck the were even using BBC equipment for a while), wonder if they will move back? If that's the case you probably won't see much difference in the coverage. Wonder if they'll bring back those track demonstrations using an F1 game again?

I meant coverage, slip of the retard fingers

There have been a few rumours flying around, nothing totally confirmed though. Here's the list of what has allegedly been confirmed:

David Croft - Current 5Live commentator replacing James Allen
Martin Brundle - Staying in his current role (fingers crossed)
Jake Humphrey - Key anchor in a London studio, replacing Steve Rider
David Coulthard - As the studio pundit, replacing Martin Brundle. This I doubt as it was rumoured before his official retirement and I don't think he'd be able to commit with his future role as advisor to Red Bull.
Lee McKenzie - Pit lane reporter to replace Louise

Hmmm, well thank god James and Ted aren't in the running then, they both got right on my tits. Also as much as I respect Mark Blundell, he seems to be lacking in personality, Coulthard I think would be good for the job.
