Anyone who thinks the sport will grow on sky is stupid. What will happen is it will decline for 5 years, then all the extra money Bernie took from Sky will be used to build the brand back up. F1 is a business, yes, but this should never have been allowed. I for one hope everyone watches the non bbc stuff illegally. I will be. I hope they don't have to cut the current team who produce damn fine television.

The BBC may produce damn fine coverage but the sport itself is in heavy decline. It has been for many many years anyway. The constant rule changing mixed with a complete lack of a balanced field makes for poor racing. It had a mini boost a few years back, especially here with 2 brit champs but this season alone has been something of a write off.

I'll watch this last full season, then not bother after that. I find highlight packages are old hat especially in the current instant news internet climate. It's time to ask big questions of the BBC and the licence fee.
ITV do superb coverage of the BTCC you get the full three races plus the support acts, basically a full days coverage on ITV4, next race day is 7th August.

There is no reason to show adverts on an already paid-for service, ever. Other than greed.
Do they?? I had no idea.

Thing is, highest since 1996 is great and all but it shows that the sport has not grown like many others.
These days drivers spend far too much time looking after their engines (limited to 8 a season and 1700 revs) and tyres (one mistake and a flatr patch that that's your times, race done until the pits) than actual racing . The new DRS is faking overtakes ,the new tracks are not there for offering the best racing for the fans , but more for offering Bernie the most Millions I love the sport, but the Sport governing body and leaders are it's own worst enemy .
Bring back the days of Tyres than can withstand a few mistakes and last, New engine every race (with full rev's) and bring back V12 Turbo engines and the like.. The glory days of F1 that I took for granted inthe 80's and early 90's

Thanks TA.
Cleary I am not trolling, just becuase you don't agree doesn't mean I am. The sport has seen a rapid decline in the last 10 years only re-ignited due to Jenson and Lewis. The majority of life long F1 fans that come into my shop often comment that they only really watch the sport out of habit or support for something they once loved. There have been moments for sure but as a rule the racing is dull as you can find in any sport in recent times.
Personally, I would love to see the racing dropped and instead have a time attack shootout as qualifying is the best bit! (Or a return to exciting races would be nice.)
