Great win for Lewis, especially as I had a 10 quid bet on him to get pole and to win the race. Alonso was ace, but for the excitement of the championship I would have preffered him to have not finished.

Now confirmed that Lewis is leaving McLaren for Merc. Perez is off to McLaren and Michael is currently without a seat.
Good for Perez but in their current form I can't see Merc being good for Lewis, though I can't see Ross Brawn taking **** from him like Witmarsh did.
Perhaps the most shocking thing of all is that Eddie Jordan was right.

Are Mercedes going to provide McLaren with sub-standard engines to their own cars next year or something?
He obviously thinks he'll get more hammer out of it than Schumi and Nico.
I'll be interested to see how Perez goes too - he's driven some good races no doubt but the pressure will be much greater in a top 3 team. I hope he doesn't end up as ineffective as Massa has become.

Just how good is Jason Plato in the BTCC? Starts in twentieth place in the last race at Silverstone today, due to a technical problem in the previous round, and he wins the thing by a country mile. Great entertainment from the ITV4 coverage of the meet all day. Motor sport at its best. The final three rounds at Brands Hatch in two weeks are going to be exciting whatever happens.

Lewis Hamilton is having a hissy fit on Twitter at the mo....
"Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't."
The big girls blouseI just cant warm to him...
My favourite part of todays race was the crowd cheering " KAM-U-I KAM-U-I"

I'd say that JP is also driving much cleaner ie. less bullyingly aggressive this season than any other since I've been watching the BTCC and yet he's still winning.
I do have a feeling he is not going to win the BTCC this year. He really needs GS not to finish or at least not score big points in at least one, preferably two, of the remaining three rounds and himself win/podium in two as well. That's a big ask but stranger things have happened.
